Mrs. Boudreau’s
February 2024

Mrs. Pereira and I are getting excited for all the fun things February has in
store! The 100th day of school is on Monday, February 5th! We can’t wait to see
all the creative shirts! We have some fun 100th Day of School activities planned
too!

Valentine’s day is on Wednesday, February 14th. We will distribute cards

(we have 18 students), small items- NO FOOD, and enjoy some valentine-themed
centers. Don’t forget to have your child bring his/her Valentine’s Party in a Bag!!!

myView:
Next week we will be wrapping up Unit 3. We continue to increase our
reading and writing skills. We continue to increase our knowledge of story
elements, different genres, and the purpose authors use when writing fictional
stories. We have been learning about pronouns and prepositions. In writing, we
continue to work on writing sentences with details that include capital letters
and punctuation.

Fundations:
In Fundations, we are working on Unit 3. We will continue to tap out
sounds and build cvc words. We have started to formally teach sight words
(Fundations call them trick words). Students will also focus on spelling and
dictation of cvc words. We continue to have story time with the Fundations owls
Mama and Baby Echo. Fundations Unit 2 assessments went well and copies
were sent home. Continue to practice proper formation of letters at home…
especially our newly learned uppercase letters.

We have been continuing to work on number formation and improving
our addition skills. Students are gaining a stronger number sense while

collecting and interpreting data.
