Submersible Pump Simulation for WaterGEMS

Offline Renald Cuevas Mon, Aug 17 2015 11:42 PM

Hi,

I would like to seek help to you masters, i am doing a simulation using a submersible pump (ground water source)
i am confused on the elevation to be used.

in example. i have a subpump setting of 40m and the pumping waterlevel is 36m.

assuming the ground elevation is at 0m.

how do i put this to the pump and reservoir elevation.

Thank you in advance, Masters.

Renald.

A sketch of what you are trying to model would help.

this is a sample of our water source - Ground water..

the pump is at 64m below the ground level and the PWL is at approximately 48m. how can i put
this into waterGEMS..

the last time i did was using only reservoir. but it is unlimited source of water where in i cant
relay on that result because we are adjusting flow rate to avoid break suction.

There is also a section in the Help called "Modeling a pumped groundwater well".
Drawdown can be accounted for in an adjusted pump curve and the reservoir elevation
would be the static groundwater elevation. The pump elevation will only effect the
calculated pressure at the pump, so you would set it to the elevation where you want to
measure pressure from.
