2. PROCESS DESCRIPTION:

Descriptions for the water treatment system units designed for providing effluent quality
necessary for your usage purposes depending on the raw water parameters given at Part 1.2 are
given below.

Chlorine Dosing Unit

Automatic chlorine dosing done at intermediate water tank; is used especially for oxidising
organic matters (ammonia and nitrite), ions like iron and manganese and for microbiological
disinfection of well water.

Ultrafiltration System

Ultrafiltration systems are used especially for surface waters with high turbidity or wastewater
treatment system effluent. Solid particles inside water is hold on membrane surface while water
passing through fiber channels and filtered water is obtained. System Works timer controlled.
Backwash with water is being done periodically for cleaning membrane surface. According to raw
water quality, cleaning with chemicals is also done.

Reverse Osmosis System

Antiscalant Dosing Unit

At the influent of reverse osmosis units antiscalant is dosed to prevent cloggings caused by
settling of ions inside raw water.

Automatic SMBS Dosing Unit

If the residual chlorine in raw water reaches to the membranes, the hydrolysis of the membranes
happens and damages the membranes with no return. Sodiummethabisulphite (SMBS) is dosed
to protect membranes from chlorine. SMBS dosage is done ORP controlled. Adequate dosage is
done by measuring the chlorine level in water.

Reverse Osmosis System

Pre-treated water becomes ready to use at processes by desalination with a ratio of %98 – 99
with reverse osmosis unit. At the inlet of the system water passes from 5 micron sized
cartridge filters for protecting membranes. After cartridge filter, water is pumped to
membranes by high pressure pump. With high pressure pump reverse of natural osmosis takes
place and water desalinates by taking ions. By flushing unit on reverse osmosis unit ions
settled on membrane surface can be cleaned.

Membrane Flushing and Chemical Cleaning Unit

When the system stops automatically or manuelly, cleaning with water must be done for flushing
the surface for preventing the clogging by settling of ions inside water in membrane housings.
Depending on the raw water quality, when the membrane performance, product water begin to
decrease, chemical cleaning must be done. Membrane cleaning procedure is done to prevent

1. WORKS for RUZGAR

Responsibilities of RUZGAR GROUP are as follows;

• Process design and detailed engineering of the treatment plant,

• Supplying all units and mechanical equipments of the system EXW Istanbul,
• Providing operational manuals for start-up, operation, and repair & maintenance,
• Start-up service can be given by RUZGAR,
• Seminars for treatment plant.

2. WORKS for CUSTOMER

Responsibilities of CUSTOMER are as follows;

• Supply of electrical power to the main control board,

• Supply of service water,
• Installing the drainage system,
• Supplying all of storage tank not mentioned in the proposal,
• Transportation of all materials from Istanbul – Turkey to Site in Iraq,
• Providing of necessary equipment and machinery such as cranes, forklifts etc during the
mounting, erection and commissioning period,
• For start-up and assembling traveling-visa, accommodation and food fees,
• For seminars traveling, accommodation and food fees,
• Any other works that are not listed clearly under responsibilities of RUZGAR.

4. TERMS OF PAYMENT

50% with the order cash,

5. INSTALLATION & START-UP CONDITIONS

RUZGAR will charge 3 technicians and 1 engineer for installation and start-up operations of
treatment system that’s planned to be built in Site. The period at site is planned to be about 15
days (excluding flight days). This period may vary according to site conditions. If the installation
time is extended, the cost of the extended time will be additionally charged to the customer.

CUSTOMER will pay for traveling-visa (Istanbul – The cite in Iraq – Istanbul), accommodation
and food fees for RUZGAR personnel during site works.

6. GENERAL STATEMENTS

• RUZGAR may perform any changes (quantity, size, capacity, dimensions etc) according to his
own know-how and past experience without any given information to CUSTOMER.
