1. The scientists were studying the shape of the land under the ice in greenland.

They
found out that there must be a hole under Hiawatha. This was later proven by radars that
showed there was a crater and substances found that could have only been there
because of a meteorite impact.
2. The meteorite could have melted down the ice sheet when it hit the Earth’s surface,
releasing freshwater to the ocean. This could have disrupted the flow of water in the
ocean, causing a huge change in the climate and cooling down the northern
hemisphere. Also, the dust could have been shot to the sky to block the sunlight, also
cooling down the northern hemisphere.
3. I personally think the meteorite might not be THE CAUSE of Younger Dryas. It could be,
but for now, it’s unlikely. However, I personally think that the meteorite might have
affected the Younger Dryas. Everything can be connected, and however small the
meteorite impact has been (it should have been somewhat large, though), it must have
affected the Earth in some way. Overall, I think the meteorite should have been one of
the causes of Younger Dryas.
