GENERAL
About this manual
This manual is valid for Spot Welding Dressing Equipment. It is relevant for personnel who at some
stage are effected of the Spot Welding Dressing Equipment or its functions and shall be kept nearby
the Robot.

This manual may not be copied without our written permission and the contents thereof must not be
imparted to a third party nor be used for any unauthorized purpose.

It is forbidden to use or copy the manual contents, or any part thereof, without prior authorization.
The prohibition refers in particular to trademarks, model denominations, documents and drawings.

GENERAL SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS


In order to ensure that maintenance operations are correctly and safely carried out, the operator
must be properly instructed.

This equipment is constructed, produced and tested according to the laws of the Member States
relating to Machinery directive 2006/42/EEC.

Install the equipment with the robot in a location so that the installation into which it is incorporated
comply to the regulations of the Machinery directive 2006/42/EEC. Failure to observe this warning
may result in injury or damage.

Requirements for the operating personnel


Spot Welding Dressing Equipment must only be operated by specially trained persons.

General
The operating personnel must not be under influence of alcohol, drugs, or similar substances. The
operating personnel must not have a restricted field of vision or be restricted in another way that
could lead to risks. The operating personnel must be in a suitable state of health to operate the
system/component (in particular, attention must be paid to medical aids, such as cardiac
pacemakers, etc..).

Qualified personnel
Persons involved in commissioning, operation, maintenance, and repair of the system/component
must be familiar with the system/component and trained accordingly. They must have read and
understood the operating manuals. Furthermore, they must be instructed and must be able to avoid
possible residual risks to themselves and to third persons while working on the system/component
or to reduce such risks as far as possible. To maintain the qualification, the safety instruction must
be repeated at least every year.

Personal Protective Equipment

WARNING
Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as safety-shoes, helmet, goggles,
hearing protectors, and gloves, appropriate to the type of operation being carried out.
Otherwise severe injuries can easily occur!

Installation safety

WARNING
Do not install or operate an Spot Welding Dressing Equipment which is damaged or
lacks parts.
Failure to observe this caution may cause injury or damage.

READ
When installing, it is necessary to observe the requirements of environmental
conditions.

Decommissioning, storage, and disposal


Destruction must comply with all applicable local and national standards at the time of destruction.
The unit must be decommissioned, stored and disposed of in accordance with the applicable
national laws, regulations and standards.

Presupposition
Be sure to read and understand this instruction manual thoroughly before transporting and operating
the Spot Welding Dressing Equipment.

When using, check that there is no anomaly, such as vibration, unusual anomalies, etc. In case of
such anomalies, immediately stop the use of the Spot Welding Dressing Equipment and contact your
service YASKAWA Italy at email: service@motoman.it .

Transportation
The complete welding dresspack is packed in a 1180x780x400 [mm] box.

The weight of each box is approximately 80 kg.

N. 8 welding dresspacks are packed in eight boxes positioned on four Euro-pallet of two box each.

WARNING
A forklift may only be operated by authorized personnel. The same applies to the use
of slings.
Avoid strong vibrations or impacts during transportation.
Never place any part of your body under a suspended load or move a suspended load
over any part of another person’s body.
Careless handling may result in severe personal injury or death.

Lifting instruction: Use load carrying devices strong enough to withstand the weight. When lifting
the Spot Welding Dressing Equipment use a forklift. When using a forklift, Spot Welding Dressing
Equipment need to be placed on a pallet. Transport Spot Welding Dressing Equipment slowly with
due caution in order to avoid overturning or slippage.

Location
It is necessary to satisfy the undermentioned environmental conditions:

AMBIENT TEMPERATURE 0° C to + 40ºC


AIR HUMIDITY 20% to 80% relative humidity (non-condensing)
OTHERS • Must be as dust-free, clean and dry as possible.
• Free from corrosive gas or liquid, or explosive gas or liquid
• Free from excessive vibration
(Vibration acceleration: 4.9m/s² [0.5 G] or less).
• Free from large electrical noise (plasma).

Maintenance
Spot Welding Dressing Equipment Maintenance should be handled only by authorized personnel or
YASKAWA Service, who are thoroughly familiar with the design and construction of the system.
