INTERNATIONAL EVENTS ESPORTS

The 2022 South American Games in Asunción have
been delayed by five months due to the "unpredictable"
COVID-19 pandemic, and is now scheduled to be held in
October 2022
The Pacific Mini Games will be rescheduled and will
now take place in June 2022, in the Commonwealth of
the Northern Marianas Islands.
The Pacific Mini Games is a
quadrennial multi-sport event About the PMG
contested by countries and terri-
tories located in Oceania. It is called the 'Mini'
games because it is a scaled-down version of the
main Pacific Games. It enables smaller nations
and territories to host events and compete against
each other.
Birmingham 2022 will be the first major multi-sport
event with more medal events for women than men.
IOC
The International Esports Feder-
ation (IESF) has signed an MoU
with the Korea Anti-Doping Agency
with the aim of developing an
"effective" anti-doping programme
for esports. This will be in compli-
ance with the World Anti-Doping
Code. The IESF added:
“Under the agreement, both parties
will cooperate for the fairness of
esports events taking place around
the world and for anti-doping educa-
tion and tests for esports athletes”
PARIS 2024
World Rowing will propose coastal
rowing’s inclusion in the Paris 2024
Games. Its inclusion will be decid-
ed by the IOC Executive Board in
December.
