ACTIVITIES (There are three sections here):

OPENING (Introduction, purpose, hook)

I will start by asking them things they remember from previous lessons about the things Jews faced during the
Holocaust. What did they experience? How were they treated?

They will do this by, first, writing at least three things on a blank google doc. Then, They will pair share (if
there are students close enoug). Finally, I will ask for volunteers/randomly pick students to explain aht they
wrote or discussed.

BODY (Bulleted step by step/differentiation must be included)

We will hear the poem read aloud as a class first. After the first reading, we will talk about what they think the
poem means. How does it make them feel? What is the poem talking about?

After, we will go through line by line and analyze each stanza to ensure understanding.

Then, we will complete the first 2 or 3 questions together as a group. They will then finish it individually.

CLOSURE (Wrap up and brief summary): How will you plan to restate the lesson objective?

We will close by reviewing the answers to the questions.

ACCOMMODATIONS/MODIFICATIONS:

ASSESSMENT: (How you will determine that the student has mastered the objectives?): Consider formative
and summative assessment measures for all levels of differentiation.

I will be able to determine how well they learned the information by their ability to answer the guided
questions.
