5. FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES
Suitable extinguishing media:
Carbon dioxide (CO2). Dry chemical. Water spray mist or foam.
Unsuitable extinguishing media Do not use a solid water stream as it may scatter and spread fire
Specific hazards arising from the chemical
In the event of fire, cool tanks with water spray.
Explosion data
Sensitivity to Mechanical Impact None.
Sensitivity to Static Discharge None.
Environmental precautions
Environmental precautions: Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system. Should not be released into the
environment.
Methods for cleaning up: Absorb spill with inert material (e.g. dry sand or earth), then place in a chemical waste
container.
Handling Spilling onto the container`s outside will make container slippery. Handle in accordance
with good industrial hygiene and safety practice.
Storage Conditions Keep containers dry and tightly closed to avoid moisture absorption and contamination
Exposure Guidelines Contains mineral oil, vegetable oil, and/or synthetic oil. Under conditions which may
generate mists, observe the OSHA PEL of 5 mg/m3, ACGIH STEL of 10 mg/m3.
