Career and Budget Report

In the future when I am finally an adult and make something of myself I will be a social

worker. A social worker helps people who have problems in their everyday life. They have to

assist those who might be affected by neglect, child abuse, domestic violence, mental health, and

parental substance abuse (Anonymous, 2019, n. p.). The required education for this career is a

bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or any other related field. The cost of this

education will be $24,000 or more based on the college of my choosing. The expected salary for

a social worker is anywhere from 44k-72k, but the median salary is $58,193.

After completing the Career Budget Report I’ve realized that I’ve done a great job at

trying to make a budget plan for the future. While looking at the report, I had more than enough

money to do all the things I’ve wanted to do and still save money. I did make a few sacrifices

while planning this budget. I had to cut down on how often I would go out to eat or how much

money I would spend shopping for clothes to make sure I would still have enough money left

over. The reason why I cut down some of these luxuries was to stop myself from spending

excessive amounts of money because “the first step in planning and managing money is to

prioritize” (Florida International University, 2018, p. 171).

I was very surprised at the outcome of this Career Budget Report because I usually spend

money as soon as I get it.(added a period) I also love spending money on items like clothes,

make-up, and things like that. I did very well trying to budget and plan for my future career, I

was also able to take account for any emergencies or accidents. I planned for emergencies by

making sure to put some left over money in my savings account to make sure I have money in

case I had any accidents or problems in the future.
