Grade Lesson - Self Introduction

Time Allocation Activity Assessment Criteria


The teacher greets students with a big smile and students return the
Greeting greetings cheerfully. Ask about their expectations for the lesson or topic for
( 2 min) the day. And encourage them to give their best in everything they do while
enjoying.
“Picture Warm-up”
The teacher will show 2 pictures, and let the students guess or describe
Lead-in what is in the picture by raising their hand in answering.

Self-introduction Poster

The teacher will now present the poster and start the self-introduction
Presentation to the students. First by the greetings “Hi or Hello” then state the name by
“ My name is ” , the home country “I’m from the ” And state the 2 or
( 3 min) 3 sports you like or can play “I like to play ” next is your 3 favorite
animals “My favorites animals are ” and then at least 3 hobbies “My
Hobbies are ” lastly to end the presentation by closing remarks as
“Thank you for listening”

Let’s Practice
To help them memorize the phrases, teacher will have a choral “repeat after
me” all together lead by the teacher. 1 st “My Name is ” each student
will say their names all together. 2nd “I’m from Japan ”, 3rd is “I like to play
” , 4th, “My favorite animals are ” , and then “My hobbies are ” and
lastly by saying “Thank you for listening”
Practice 1
The teacher will now ask randomly from the students to present their
( 20 min) own poster in the class. One by one, they will have a chance to present or
introduce themselves using their poster. Each students will be given at least
3 minutes to present. The students will be guided accordingly while
presenting their poster as part of the practice.

The phrases must be all present in introducing or presenting such as


“My name is , “I’m from , “I like to play , “My favorite
animals are , and “My hobbies are with closing remarks as
“Thank you for listening”.
Practice 2
More Practice
(5 min)
The students will be practicing with their partner.

1. Students will now be paired.


2. The teacher demonstrates the activity with the class by presenting
with another student
3. Students will be given 5 minutes to practice introducing themselves with
Their partner guided by showing their poster.
The students will be given an activity sheet, this will be for an assessment
for their understanding in introducing themselves. They will be given a 5
minutes to answer the following questions.

In the activity sheet, the students will choose their answer below that
matches and answers the questions.

“Meet new friends in the Park”

Students will be group into 4 members to make a skit about meeting as a


Production new friends in the park. The students will be using the phrases learned in
introducing themselves to their partners.
