Paragraph 2 Elements and Principles of Art

Provide constructive criticism regarding the work you’ve created (Use vocabulary of the elements and
principles of art to discuss your work’s strengths and weaknesses.) [2 - 3 sentences to later use in your
formal paper.]

I believe I could have darkened the outlines on the three objects I portrayed in my work so that they would
stand out more compared to the background details and the textures within the objects. Also, I think the
half-inch border around my piece of work should have been more refined. For instance, there are still some
sighting marks on the left and bottom side of the border that should have been erased.

Paragraph 3 Student Learning Outcomes

Discuss what you have learned about yourself via the process of making this work of art from the beginning
to its completion using the SLO’s (on page 3) to guide your writing. [2 - 3 sentences to later use in your
formal paper.]

Throughout the process of making this work, I used my knowledge of sighting and proportions in order to
create it. However, I also had to learn how to incorporate some of the textures into the drawing myself.
Ultimately, I learned to use my prior knowledge and built upon my weaknesses in the process of creating my
piece of work because although there were some elements I was comfortable with to draw, I also had to go
out of my comfort zone on other aspects to successfully create it. Overall, through this work, I learned that I
can be resilient and support my own learning.

Paragraph 4 Gallery Walk Critique

Now that you have viewed the work of your peers, which work was admirable and why? Support with
evidence. What will you appropriate from other artists to enhance your skills for this work or future works of
art and why? [2 - 3 sentences to later use in your formal paper.]

I admired the level of detail and accurateness in the work of a few of my peers since it shows how much
effort they have put into their piece and it makes me believe I can also do it. I particularly admired the work of
Jonathon Campos and Andrianna Pringle because both of them included intricate interior details in their
objects. Based on the work of my peers, I will make sure to pay full attention to my drawing and point out any
mistakes I make before finishing off or submitting any future works. This is because I want to make sure I do
not make a careless mistake or misinterpret the directions in the future. Being detail-oriented is an extremely
important skill to learn, especially when creating art.

Paragraph 5 In the future…

In what ways would you change the actual assignment? How and why? [2 - 3 sentences to later use in your
formal paper.]

Personally, I would ignore any background details for the assignment because it would help focus more on
the three objects of which the assignment is mainly based on. Also, I suggest that some sort of color should
be added to the piece as a requirement. For example, only coloring one of the objects? Although I already
thoroughly enjoyed the assignment and do not think any changes need to be made, these are just some
simple suggestions.
