In This Version
This release contains support for new and updated file formats. There are updates for
most technologies that Analyzer supports, with changes falling under the following
categories:

• Technology improvements:
o Enhancements to support for Samsung Exynos 5100 5GNR chipset family
devices, including support for Exynos measurements in Accuver XCAL DRM
o Configurable NR Beamset mapping tool, comparing scanned beam IDs to
the planned beam coverage distance from the cell center

• New collections of devices and improvements:

o Support added for TEMS RR API 21.2.4
o Support for non-serving beam measurements from Nemo 5GNR UE
o Improvements in 12 new/updated log codes for Qualcomm 5GNR, including
updated 5GNR detection when beam ID is not reported in FR1

• Platform improvements:
o Added .NET 4.8 framework as an installation prerequisite

Technology Improvements

5G-NR support
• New configurable NR Beamset mapping tool, for configuring how 5GNR scanner
measurements are grouped during site rollout verification, by setting the following
scanner attributes:

o NR_Scan_SS_Beam_Set_SortedBy_RSRP
o NR_Scan_Beam_Set_SortedBy_RSRP

There are 2 modes:

o Beam Idx compared to distance, which groups Beam IDs into the
Beamset ranges. Beam IDs can be entered as comma-separated, or
hyphenated ranges.

 The distance ranges are set as thresholds to allow the Beamset attributes
based on Beam ID to be compared to the planned Beamset range:
o NR_BeamsetMapping_InnerCell_DistMin_Threshold
o NR_BeamsetMapping_InnerCell_DistMax_Threshold
o NR_BeamsetMapping_CenterCell_DistMin_Threshold
o NR_BeamsetMapping_CenterCell_DistMax_Threshold
o NR_BeamsetMapping_OuterCell_DistMin_Threshold
o NR_BeamsetMapping_OuterCell_DistMax_Threshold

o Distance Range only, which groups the scanner ranges based only on the
resolved serving / neighbor sector distance. No comparison is therefore
possible to planned coverage, but the configured ranges may be visualized
and compared to UE measurements if combined into a Superstream.

• Enhancements to the support of Samsung Exynos 5100 5GNR chipset family

devices, including support for Exynos measurements collected using Infovista
TEMS, now with added initial support for Accuver XCAL DRM.
o Format group added for the Samsung_Log_Code attribute
o RACH procedure improvements
o Decoding DL BLER

Accuver XCAL AOF support

• Improvements have been made to the setting of MCS values from Qualcomm
chipsets:
o LTE_UE_MCS_Average_DL, set as the aggregated sum of carrier-wise
MCS
o LTE_UE_MCS_Average_DL_for_Carrier, set from the max value of
index 0 and index 1, for related PCell and SCell measurements.

Accuver XCAL DRM support

• Initial support has been added for measurements from the Samsung Exynos 5100
5GNR family of chipset devices.

• Resolved a problem in decoding the attributes UTRA_UE_CarrierRSSI and

UE_TxPow for WCDMA, from the Samsung Exynos UL1 UMTS RF Info v2
message.

Infovista TEMS support
• Support has been added for TEMS RR API 21.2.4 (no new versions of TEMS
Investigation, TEMS Pocket or TEMS Paragon are added with this new API).

• Resolved a problem where empty streams were appearing in TEMS files, which
only had GPS messages reported. Note: in some scenarios, this adjusts the
stream ID for the remaining scanner and UE streams, which may require custom
repository templates to be updated.

• Resolved a problem with decoding the LTE PHY Channel Quality message,
correcting LTE_UE_RI and LTE_UE_Wideband_CQI_Average attributes where
values were appearing out of range, and not setting the attributes if they were
reported as invalid.

• Resolved a problem with Samsung Exynos devices, where LTE_UE_* attributes

were incorrectly being set whilst the UE was in WCDMA mode.

• Added support for the filtering and coloring of Samsung Exynos 5G-NR messages
in the Message Browser and Protocol Stack Browser.

• Further updates have been made to the decoding of Samsung Exynos 5100 5G-NR
devices:
o NR RACH Result, including improvements made to the RACH procedure,
setting attributes, filtering out repeats based on the Temporary C-RNTI:
o NR_UE_RACH_Attempt
o NR_UE_RACH_OK
o NR_UE_RACH_Procedure_Count
o NR PHY Debug Statistics, decoded into the Message Browser only
o NR PHY PDSCH Status, setting attribute NR_UE_BLER_DL
o NR PHY DCI UL Grant Information 2, decoded into Message Browser only
o NR PHY DCI DL Grant Information 1, decoded into Message Browser only
o NR PHY DCI DL Grant Information 2, decoded into Message Browser only
o NR PHY ISR DC CSIRS SINR, decoded into the Message Browser only
o NR UL PDCP Statistics, decoded into the Message Browser only

Keysight Nemo support

• Improvements have been made to the reporting of the MCS Average, RB Num and
Bandwidth attributes during Carrier Aggregation. CA mode is now also set based
on CHI messages (in addition to the existing CELLMEAS and PHRATE messages).

• Support has been added for new versions of these messages in the Message
Browser:
o NR 5G MMW Tx AGC (0x1C08), decoded into the Message Browser
o NR 5G MMW Rx AGC (0x1C09), decoded into the Message Browser
o NR 5G MAC DL TB Report v1.03 (0xB886), including the attribute
NR_UE_Timing_Advance_Command
o NR 5G MAC PDSCH Stats v1.6 (0xB888), decoded into the Message
Browser
o NR 5G MAC RACH Attempt v2.3 (0xB88A), new version of log code
decoded with all previous attributes
o NR 5G MAC BRS Report v1.03 (0xB88F), decoded into the Message
Browser

 o NR 5G LL1 FW MAC Tx IU Power (0xB8D2), improving the reporting of per
channel power levels, applied to PUSCH, PUCCH, PRACH and SRS:
o NR_UE_Power_Tx_<channel>, the minimum Transmit Power
for that channel and maximum transmit power level (MTPL).
o NR 5G ML1 DL Handover v1.03, v2.01 and v2.04 (0xB952), improvements
have been made to the formatting of the Message Browser view
o NR 5G ML1 Searcher Measurement Database Update Ext v1.02, v1.03,
v2.01 and v2.03 (0xB97F) has been updated to improve the setting of
beam measurements.
o In cases where the serving beam ID in the current message is
not included in the Beam ID measurement list, the previous valid
Beam ID will be used, thus not impacting the
Technology_Mode attribute.
o Modified the Beam index against the SSB Index column
(previously used Detected Beam # column).
o Added new attributes for non-serving beam measurements:
▪ NR_UE_Nbr_Beam_Idx,
▪ NR_UE_Nbr_NR_ARFCN_DL,
▪ NR_UE_Nbr_PCI,
▪ NR_UE_Nbr_RSRP,
▪ NR_UE_Nbr_RSRQ

Rohde & Schwarz ROMES4 support

• Improved the decoding of the MS Network Capability subframe of the UL EMM
Attach Request message, allowing verification in the Message Browser and
Protocol Stack Browser for ENDC mode (Dual connectivity of E-UTRA with NR
capability: Supported).

Format Groups
• A format group has been added for the Samsung_Log_Code attribute:

Thresholds
• Thresholds have been added to support the NR Beamset mapping feature for
scanners, to allow a comparison between planned beam coverage and actual
beam coverage, according to specified distance ranges. These thresholds, with

Platform Improvements

License Activation
• Resolved a problem which prevented the License Activation Wizard link from being
displayed in the Start button menu in some Windows 10 versions.

NR Beamset mapping tool

• As described above, a new toolbar button has been added to allow the
configuration of the NR Beamset scanner attributes and thresholds. The button
can be found in the Thresholds section of the Data ribbon menu:

Prerequisites
• .Net 4.8 has been added as a pre-requisite, automatically installed during the
installation process.

• Resolved a problem where VC++ 2017 runtime libraries were always being re-
installed in Windows 10, even if currently installed.

Limitations, Known Issues and Obsolescence

End of Life of Windows 7 support

• Advance notice is given that from the end of June 2020, support for Actix Analyzer
running on Windows 7 shall be deprecated, and support cases shall no longer be
accepted if they relate to issues arising from this OS version, following its
withdrawal from Microsoft’s Windows Update program on 14th January 2020.
