KRITIKA KULTURA
A Synergized Performance Task (THIRD TERM SUMMATIVE)
of SCIENCE 7, FILIPINO 7, and CLE 7

Rationale Filipinos are strangely superstitious. We assent to our own array of


superstitions inherited from our ancestors and colonizers though some
of them may be ridiculous-sounding or even funny. Norma Alarcon in
her article “Filipino Building Beliefs and How They Influence
Architecture” in 2004 discussed that Filipinos have beliefs that
normally guided their way of life. With these beliefs, we devised means
to counteract the consequences and effects that might befall us in
some extreme cases.

True enough, these superstitions have influenced the landscape of our


lives in one way or another. Even when the strong presence of religion
in our country, these beliefs have weights in our decision-makings.
The question is: Do we have to continue believing in these?

If you must, all we have to do is to logically prove its connection to our


lives through scientific evidences, script-writing, and faith.

You will present arguments whether or not beliefs and practices


GOAL related to astronomical phenomena have scientific evidence
(SCIENCE). Moreover, you will creatively write the script covering the
plot, settings, characters, and conflict in which statements show
coherence and bears a single clear main idea (FILIPINO).

Also, you will reflect on your faith and how God reveals Himself amidst
the influence of these beliefs and practices on astronomical
phenomena (CLE). You will also relate the values shown in the story
of Ibong Adarna (FILIPINO) to what your personal and religious stand
on these superstitious beliefs is.

You are a script-writer.

As Augustinian students, we must be firm with what faith we express.


SITUATION Scientific findings give us the truth of the physical world we have, but
there is a superior being that is above everything else. As followers of
Christ, where are we to separate what science has to say and what
faith has to be expressed. This will be presented through script writing.

A Script (in FILIPINO Language)


PRODUCT

Procedure 1. You will be oriented about the Performance Task in respective


synchronous classes in Science, Filipino, and CLE.
2. You will choose a common belief or practice that is related to a
specific astronomical phenomenon.
3. You will write a script revolving on the belief or practice about
astronomical phenomena covering all the elements of
scriptwriting (Characters, Setting, Plot, Conflict). Take note that
this involves argumentative discussions about the said belief or
practice.
4. The script should be in FILIPINO, except for those who are
taking Special Filipino subject.
5. A well-thought-of title should be written.
6. The script will be written on the KRITIKA KULTURA
WORKSHEET in a box labeled PART A.
7. The submitted script must be ORIGINAL and shall not infringe
any copyrights or any other rights of any third parties. Once
8. If in case you infringe the copyright of a third party, you will be
asked to write another script and will be submitted to
disciplinary actions according to the policy of our school.
9. After writing the script, a reflection on faith and values should
be written in the box labeled PART B. Guide questions are
provided.
10. The students will submit the Worksheet (as the final output)
through Google Classroom, google drive, or email to ALL
respective SUBJECT TEACHERS.

mga salita at pangungusap na may kaisahan at pagkakaugnay-ugnay sa
inilahad na mga pangyayari o kaisipan. Naipakita rin ang lubos na
kahusayan sa paggamit ng mga wastong salita, bantas at gramatika sa
pagbuo ng iskrip.

himself in our human experiences by supplying relevant and personal
examples and applications in present and real-life situation.
