REACH standards provide regulations
for the handling of chemicals in Europe
Protecting people and the environment should be
our top priority. REACH is the European chemicals
law providing rules for handling chemicals.

REACH (EU Regulation 1907/2006) is Europe’s regulation for
the Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals
and has been in force since 2007. Manufacturers and
importers are under obligation to collect comprehensive data
on the substances they sell, evaluate potential environmental
and health risks, and inform users on necessary safety
measures in a comprehensive Safety Data Sheet (SDS).
REACH also defines the basic conditions for how speciality
lubricants should be handled.
REACH registration deadlines
No data, no market: according to this principle only
preregistered and registered substances can be manufactured,
imported and used in Europe. For substances exceeding
an import or production quantity of 100 tonnes per year, the
registration deadlines have already expired. All these chemical
substances have already been registered. The deadline for
substances produced from 1 to 100 tonnes per year is 2018.

Safety Data Sheets acc. to CLP / GHS specify the
correct handling of chemicals

Since 1 June 2015, lubricants have had to be labelled in

line with the CLP regulation (CLP – Classification, Labelling
and Packaging). This grading system is the European
implementation of the “Globally Harmonized System” (GHS) for
the labelling of lubricants. It is meant to ensure consistent
handling of dangerous substances and mixtures worldwide.

All our Safety Data Sheets for the European market comply
with the increasing requirements of REACH and CLP
regulations. Users outside of the European Union receive
Safety Data Sheets corresponding to the GHS standard of
their own country.

This ensures you always receive up-to-date information for the

designated, safe use of our speciality lubricants.
