Assignment:

1. Review your Introduction to Micro-Enterprises project from last


summer and identify the specific concepts that you have learnt so
far in the MBA program (especially in OMF and EL-1) that you
can apply to help this micro enterprise. Submit a two page report
to tauseef.zahra@lums.edu.pk by 05:00 pm, March 14, 2021.

2. Review the main concepts that you have learnt during the OMF
course and other courses, including the EL-1, studied so far.
Which of these concepts may be useful in analyzing the current
situation at Benihana? Make a list.

3. What are the key stakeholders in Benihana value chain? How has
Benihana positioned itself in this value chain? What is unique
about Benihana?

4. What factors may explain the success of Benihana? What metrics


would you use to define success in this case? What is the specific
role of operations management at Benihana?

5. What would you as Rocky do regarding the issues mentioned at the


end of the case? What drives your decisions?

6. What are Benihana’s sources of competitive advantage? Are they


sustainable? How would you comment on the issues raised by
Russ Carpenter in the last paragraph of the case?

determine how McDonald has changed since the time of the case.
