    Completeness

    The student responded to all questions.

    The student’s responses are original.

    Understanding

    The student’s responses completely answer the questions.

    The student uses academic language correctly.

    The student’s explanations are logical.


    Application

    The student correctly sourced (identified author, date, medium, etc.) the document.
    The student links their responses to broader historical contexts.

    Analysis

    The student correctly analyzed the document’s message, purpose, tone, audience, etc.

    The student supported their interpretations with reasoning and evidence.

    Evaluation

    The student’s opinion or argument reflects the synthesis of multiple sources, and the
    opinion/argument is supported by evidence.
