Source A

Pakistan. In 1947, approximately 8 million Muslims fled to Pakistan. Muslims

faced lots of problems while moving to Pakistan. Mob violence broke out in many

areas. Enraged groups of Hindus and Sikhs, massacred hundreds of thousands of

Muslims, looted their homes, burned their villages and committed unspeakable

atrocities
Source B
We have been squeezed in as much as was possible and the latest blow that we
have received is the Award of the Boundary Commission. It is an unjust,
incomprehensible and even perverse Award. It may be wrong, unjust and
perverse; and it may not be a judicial but a political Award, but we have agreed
to abide by it and it is binding upon us. As honorable people we must abide by
it. It may be our misfortune but we must bear up this one more blow with
fortitude, courage and hope.

(Quaid e Azam- M.Ali Jinnah)

place. India refused to accept this proposal.

2. Why is Kashmir considered the most important issue between India and
Pakistan?

Answer the following Questions in detail.

Q1. How did India occupy Hyderabad?
Ans: Hyderabad, the largest and richest of the Indian states, was a different

matter than Kashmir. The Nizam (ruler) was Muslim, and although the majority of

his people were Hindu, he did not want to join India. The Nizam wished the state

to become a separate dominion, but Mountbatten turned this down. India

occupied Hyderabad militarily.
