RECIPE
1 cup water Mix the kava and water together
1 Tbsn Instant Kava ( I use until it dissolves. Add this into the
Kava Society) blender with the other
Thumb sized piece of ginger ingredients and blend on high
& turmeric until liquefied.
Large slice of pineapple
2 Tbsn passionfruit pulp
1 teaspoon MDPP Reishi
Mocha Greens Smoothie
With Cordyceps
There really is nothing better than coffee in the morning. Well maybe tag teaming
that coffee with a decent whack of greens , chocolate and the energizing
adaptogenic fungi - cordyceps might be better? This is the perfect start to the day
for the coffee, smoothie and shrooms fanatic.
RECIPE - SERVES 4
10cm piece fresh ginger - juiced Juice ginger
½ cup apple cider vinegar Combine ginger juice, vinegar,
3 tablespoons pure maple syrup maple syrup, chaga and lemon
1 tablespoon lemon juice juice in a large jug and stir until
2 tspn MDPP Chaga maple syrup is dissolved.
4 cups soda water To serve, dilute with soda water
Lemon balm or Verbena sprigs (for and pour switchel into ice-filled
serving) glasses; garnish with lemon and
lemon verbena or lemon balm.
Strawberry Smoothie
With Ashwagandha
Oh ashwagandha. It is the herb I reach for in times of strife. When everything
feels a bit hard, when I am tired but sleepless, when I need a hug but feel
irritated. Its the great balancer. It is also a close ally to rose, the great heart
opener and spirit hugger. This smoothie is a lovely, light and fragrant drink
which utilizes the great NZ summer harvest of strawberries.
RECIPE - SERVES 2
1 teaspoon rose elixir
Blend all ingredients
(or rosewater or just petals)
together and serve. If you
1 tspn MDPP Ashwagandha
want a thicker smoothie -
1 teaspoon vanilla
add some chia seeds when
1 cup chopped strawberries
blending
1 tbsn maple syrup
1 1/2 cup oat or coconut milk
Yerba Mate Iced Tea
With Lions Mane
Mate is a beautiful and both mentally and physically stimulating herb which
makes a welcome health giving substitute for tea . This iced tea blends a strong
brew of yerba mate tea with rosemary for remembrance ( and memory!) and
the nootropic fungi - Lions Mane to make a lovely brain boosting, thirst
quenching tipple for those long summer days.
RECIPE - SERVES 2
1 cup water Make a strong brew of tea.
1 Earl Grey tea bag Leave to steep and then stir in
1 tbsp maple syrup the the other ingredients.
2 cups oat mylk except for the mylk
Juice of 1/2 orange Pour the tea into two cups
1 tspn MDPP Shroom Squad Froth the mylk and pour over
the tea.
Calm Herb Tea
With Reishi
I have a wee garden I call my "calm the f*ck down garden. It contains my three
favourite calm herbs - California poppy, chamomile and the lovely lemon balm.
These herbs are not only easy to grow but also make beautiful fresh herb teas!
This calming tea is simply a few fresh sprigs of california poppy, a couple of
chamomile flowers and some lemon balm leaves made into a tea. I have added
the calming reishi as it resonates with these other three herbs and makes one
almost unflappable.
RECIPE
1/2 cup of fresh lavender Put the lavender and butterfly pea into
1 teaspoon MDPP Butterfly Pea a saucepan and simmer for 5 - 10
1 teaspoon MDPP Reishi minutes. Strain out the lavender and
1 cup of water return liquid to pot. Add in the sugar,
1 cup sugar ( yes, I know) stir together, bring to a boil. Add in the
Soda water & lemon & flowers reishi and then take off the heat.
to serve To serve -add 1/4 cup of syrup to a
glass and add ice, soda, lemon and
blooms!
Matcha Coconut Latte
With Cordyceps
Matcha has certainly had its time in the sun lately. Its not really surprising - it
has a fresh taste and pretty colour and provides a calm focused energy that
coffee can only dream about. It makes a perfect companion for cordyceps as
they both support healthy energy and focus. I have teamed it here in a
luxurious and creamy latte with coconut and vanilla.
INGREDIENTS INGREDIENTS
2 cups of espresso coffee Make coffee and stir in the Shroom
1 tspn MDPP Shroom Squad Squad, vanilla and cinnamon
1/2 tspn vanilla essence Whip your coconut cream ( leave a can
1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon overnight in the fridge and then whip
Coconut cream -whipped the solid component as you would
cream)
Spoon the cream onto the coffee and
top with cinnamon.
Dandelion Ginger Latte
With Chaga
I collected dandelion roots in Autumn and roasted them and still have some coming
into summer! They are highly nutritive while also being a liver and digestive
tonic and make an amazing coffee substitute! You can always get premade
dandelion coffee but there is something so nice about making your own. I have
blended here with the gut calming, restorative and highly nutritive fungi, chaga.
