NOTICE

This sheet was and is intended to document boards people have used,
in an effort to find good products for people doing very high accuracy
content.

If you have a board labeled "poor" on this sheet, it is very likely that you
won't even be affected by its performance. For 99% of players, a $2
125hz membrane keyboard will be more than enough to play at their
best ability.

Unless you are gunning for very high accuracy content, or are incredibly
fast and need lighter actuation in your keys to get an edge, buying
these keyboards are unlikely to make you a better player.

If you understand, then feel free to continue to the next sheet.

Where I upload KB showcases and scores with boards I have.
[1] The brand of keyboard. Links to view or purchase the board are included.

[2] The physical size of the keyboard. Smaller keyboards remove keys to save size and typically lower cost.
Common sizes are FULL, TKL (no numpad), and 60% (no F keys or nav keys).

[3] The available switch types for a board model. Different switches may impact the feel and switch quality,
but the other hardware will be the same.

[4] Measured in HZ, which is the number of times the hardware reports to the PC per second. Smaller
numbers mean bigger gaps where you can't hit anything during play.

[5] Measured in HZ, which is the number of times the hardware reports to the PC per second. Smaller
numbers mean bigger gaps where you can't hit anything during play.

[6] Some keyboards have hardware limitations preventing keys from being sent on the same polling cycle.
Some splitting is worse than others!

[7] Approxamate price of a keyboard from a major retailer (e.g. Amazon). Sometimes more expensive buys
aren't higher quality.

Please note that these prices are not constantly updated, nor do they reflect sales. They are merely an
approxamate guideline. They are also mostly US based buying points too.

[8] A simple rating for buying a given board for play. Hover for extra notes.

[9] If I own the keyboard then I will showcase the polling and chord splitting findings in a short video with the
keyboard in question, so you can be sure I'm not pulling my numbers out of thin air.

[10] This KB appears to be no longer in production, as the company itself doesn't sell it anywhere. Some
third party retailers exist with stock, it may not be around for much longer.

[11] Your standard full sized keyboard, no missing buttons.

[12] Replays at a BPM expected to show deadzones come up empty, secondary source shows capability to
hit within a 1ms resolution (but not due to instability found in low polling rate boards): https://i.imgur.

[13] Used PS/2 converter dongle, device failed to power on at all.

[14] Very marginal ~1ms split, evident with repeated tests in our secondary source tool: https://i.imgur.
com/KmMkzCW.png

[15] ~1ms chordsplit is marginal enough it should be above what any human being can ever have to worry
about sd wise, even on higher keymodes.

Its price point is very good for a mech of this ability, at full size, and with optical switches. If you CAN buy it
still, it should be solid based on this data.

[16] At 60%, the numpad, navigation keys, and function keys are all removed. Most functionality will be
accessible through added function shortcut binds.

[17] Gateron (Brown / Red), Cherry MX (Blue / Brown / Red), Kailh Box (Brown / Red / White),

[18] Clear polling lines around 7-8ms apart: https://i.imgur.com/rQGFy0G.png

[19] Polling rate is so low that chord splitting doesn't come into play.
[20] Unacceptable polling rate for rhythm games.

[21] This is actually Kb controller software

accessible through added function shortcut binds.

[23] 125-1000hz: flashing seems to cause variability with polling

[24] XYZ created unstable qmk hotfix

[25] Polling rate and chord split instability is unacceptable for rhythm games.

[26] As a TKL, this board does not have the numpad row. If you use the other numbers, your general use
may not be impacted much by this change.

[27] Brown, Blue, Red

[28] Board does not appear to split chords, replay timing data shows hits can be incredibly close together:
https://i.imgur.com/0LkzA3A.png

[29] Seems solid for rhythm game play, price is reasonable, no stand out issues reported. Same family as
the 552, this is expected.

[30] Your standard full sized keyboard, no missing buttons.

[31] Brown, Blue, Red

[32] Used PS/2 converter dongle, device failed to power on at all.

[33] Secondary source showcases the ability to hit chords within the same polling cycle: https://i.imgur.

[34] Acceptable for rhythm games, able to hit very accurately at a good price point.

[35] As a TKL, this board does not have the numpad row. If you use the other numbers, your general use
may not be impacted much by this change.

[36] Brown, Blue, Red

[37] Used PS/2 converter dongle, device failed to power on at all.

[38] Acceptable for rhythm games, able to hit very accurately at a reasonable price point.

[39] Your standard full sized keyboard, no missing buttons.

[40] Blue, Red, Brown

[41] The board seems to have instability with splitting, ranging to 1ms for the entire chord to several ms.
Shown is slow easy CJ file with a score of 99.993, splitting is apparent but varied: https://i.imgur.
com/oH334y1.png

[42] The board has instability when it comes to chord splitting, but it would absolutely work for general
rhythm gaming accuracy. However given it's price point, I feel there are better options available.

Approxamate multiples of 8 as expected on secondary source for 125hz: https://i.imgur.com/X55tw9I.png

[46] Used PS/2 converter dongle, device failed to power on at all.

[47] Secondary source clearly showcases the inability for this board to hit chords within the same polling
cycle, despite only being 125hz: https://i.imgur.com/9T0u7RX.png

[48] Please do not buy this keyboard for rhythm games, not that you likely even can. Thank goodness.

[49] As a TKL, this board does not have the numpad row. If you use the other numbers, your general use
may not be impacted much by this change.

[50] https://i.imgur.com/n5fmR2d.png

Outemu switches are reported to be problematic with chatter (aka unintentional extra inputs), pretty much
universally. Bad for rhythm games, especially for consistency and accuracy.

[51] Clear dead zones approxamately 7-8ms apart. Indicative of 125hz: https://i.imgur.com/BF9WBke.png

[52] https://i.imgur.com/74P3Dq3.png

This KB cannot send more than 1 key per polling cycle. At 125hz This is quite bad.

[53] Please do not buy this board for rhythm gaming. The polling and chord splitting are so bad that
anything chord dense will shred your score. The price is low, but the quality makes buying this a mistake in
basically every catagory (including switch type).

[54] At 65%, the numpad, navigation keys, and function keys are all removed. Most functionality will be
accessible through added function shortcut binds.

[55] Cherry MX Black, Silent Red, Brown, Blue, Red, or Silver.

[56] Seems like your standard 125hz polling but my data is limited. This is the best example I could find:
https://i.imgur.com/Ge4oXlH.png

[57] 0-4ms unstable, leaning closer to 4ms average deviation between notes on the same chord: https://i.
imgur.com/NmzQXVf.png

[58] Unacceptable polling rate for rhythm games, doesn't appear worthwhile for the size, pricepoint, of
features overall.

[59] At 60%, the numpad, navigation keys, and function keys are all removed. Most functionality will be
accessible through added function shortcut binds.

[60] Blue, Red, and Silent Red

[61] More data is needed on this board.

[62] More data is needed to make any conclusions. However I have received bad experience reports of
board life from a users (e.g. <2 weeks before severe input drops) which concerns me.
[63] Your standard full sized keyboard, no missing buttons.

[64] Black, Brown, Blue, Red, Green, Clear

[65] Snover says idk wtf is going on with that polling, they say its 1000hz but i dont buy that.

Polling could be unstable.

[66] Snover says probably yes, graph looked hella weird. Specific replays to analyze are needed to confirm.

[67] More data is needed, but it appears at the very least this is an unstable board for a high price point.
Doesn't appear worth the purchase.

[68] As a TKL, this board does not have the numpad row. If you use the other numbers, your general use
may not be impacted much by this change.

[69] Black, Blue, Brown, Red

[70] Do NOT use this KB on USB. Clear polling lines around 7-8ms apart: https://i.imgur.com/2CivwvF.png

Grace note tests shows consistent multiples of approxamately 8ms in repeated testing: https://i.imgur.
com/HDUPTZr.png

[71] The Filco comes with a PS/2 dongle, use it.

[72] Generally 2.5-3ms between each note. There is some play but 2ms is around the best case scenario:
https://i.imgur.com/SXWZ6fd.png

These are quads with ~8ms between first and last: https://imgur.com/CwKAJda

[73] With PS/2 passthrough, this board is acceptable to use for rhythm games, but the higher price point
and chord splitting makes it not very worth it. The board quality also seems unstable, and I've been through
2 boards in 1 year.

[74] As a TKL, this board does not have the numpad row. If you use the other numbers, your general use
may not be impacted much by this change.

[75] Speed Silver, Silent Red

[76] 0-2ms unstable by eye of a CJ replay, not a hindering level of splitting: https://i.imgur.com/MJQf3wn.
png

[77] Either $99 or $109 dependant on switch as of this writing.

[78] Generally seems acceptable for rhythm games, splitting is marginal and price point isn't far higher than
the other decent buy boards. User claims silent reds seem fine relative to other switches. Better buy options
exist, but this seems fairly good.

[79] Your standard full sized keyboard, no missing buttons.

[80] Blue, Red, Brown, Speed Silver

[81] Clear polling lines around 7-8ms apart: https://i.imgur.com/a4Z3IRx.png

[82] Polling rate is so low that chord splitting doesn't come into play.

[83] Unacceptable polling rate for rhythm games.

[84] At 60%, the numpad, navigation keys, and function keys are all removed. Most functionality will be
accessible through added function shortcut binds.

[85] You have to buy switches seperately, hot swap so no soldering.

[86] Chord splitting behavior, consistent 3-4ms splitting despite the fact the board is 1000hz, I was not able
to achieve any intervals lower than 3ms. https://cdn.discordapp.
com/attachments/685576834758213672/792120444580790282/unknown.png

[87] More data is needed on this board.

[88] Hot swappable switches (opticals only). It can only accept Gateron Optical switches specifically, and
not optical switches from other manufacturers.

[89] At 60%, the numpad, navigation keys, and function keys are all removed. Most functionality will be
accessible through added function shortcut binds.

[90] Black, Blue, Brown, Red -- (Optical switches ONLY). It can only accept Gateron Optical switches
specifically, and not optical switches from other manufacturers.

[91] Clear polling lines approxamately 10ms apart. https://i.imgur.com/sSKoKuA.png

[92] Polling rate is so low that chord splitting doesn't come into play.

[93] While the price is okay, the polling is unacceptable for rhythm games.

[94] Your standard full sized keyboard, no missing buttons.

NOTE: Same model controller available in TKL format.

[95] Note that the board is hot swappable, so you can put your own switches in place of the stock ones if
you'd like.

[96] Clear polling lines 7-8ms apart: https://i.imgur.com/2Fkf605.png

Please note: I am AWARE this board comes with proprietary software which claims it can change the
polling rate. It generally seems not to work based on past anecdotes AND a confirmation from this current
user. I also will ONLY rate KBs based on their plug and play abilities, not based on bloatware gatekeeping
done by the manufacturer.

[97] Polling rate is so low that chord splitting doesn't come into play.

You can see these all over in the replays if you look but here is an example of same cycle "instant"
response: https://i.imgur.com/zqci4qM.png

[98] Polling rate is unacceptable for rhythm games. Even IF you manage to get the software working, the
fact you need software at all to get standard features is ridiculous.

There is also risk with hotswap boards for dropped inputs and chord splitting due to the connection type
being less stable than a soldered one. Not a guarantee, but something of note for sure.

[99] As a TKL, this board does not have the numpad row. If you use the other numbers, your general use
may not be impacted much by this change.

[100] Outemu switches are reported to be problematic with chatter (aka unintentional extra inputs), pretty
much universally. Bad for rhythm games, especially for consistency and accuracy.
[100] Outemu switches are reported to be problematic with chatter (aka unintentional extra inputs), pretty

[101] Your bog standard 125hz polling, not great. https://i.imgur.com/C9RVem3.png

[102] Okay so unlike most boards with 125hz polling, this one actually can only accept 1 key per polling
cycle. So basically instead of 0 chord splitting due to bad polling, you get 7-8ms per key splits, and slight
user error means you are moved TWO polling cycles instead of one. Basically this board is unusable for
acc. Score example on CJ: https://i.imgur.com/9LVcmWv.png

[103] Polling is not acceptable for RG, but this is also the first board I've seen with chord splitting so bad it
significantly impacts accuracy play. You might have trouble even AAAing a chordjack file.

[104] At 60%, the numpad, navigation keys, and function keys are all removed. Most functionality will be
accessible through added function shortcut binds.

[105] Key Switch Structure: Rubber Dome and Conic Spring

[106] With stock controller, clear polling lines around 8ms apart.

[107] Generally 3ms between each note. There is a fair bit of instability but ~3ms seems like the average.
An example jump from DDD: https://i.imgur.com/hW39WeI.png

[108] Being very generous here, many prices closing near $500

[109] This board appears to have absolutely no redeeming qualities for rhythm games at all. Extremely
expensive, bad polling, and chord splitting even despite the polling!

Even with an aftermarket controller with custom firmware, the polling rate isn't good enough and the
keyboard still splits chords.

[110] Your standard full sized keyboard, no missing buttons.

[111] Clear polling lines around 8ms apart. https://i.imgur.com/fchrW1m.png

[112] Polling rate is so low that chord splitting doesn't come into play.

[113] Unacceptable polling rate for rhythm games.

[114] This KB is no longer be in production

[115] As a TKL, this board does not have the numpad row. If you use the other numbers, your general use
may not be impacted much by this change.

[116] Black, Brown, Blue, Red

[117] General low polling KB, example play on Love Hurts: https://i.imgur.com/jdULM9d.png

[118] Polling rate is so low that chord splitting doesn't come into play.

[119] While it is a decent price for gateron TKL (if you were even able to buy it), the on board hardware
polling so low makes this a definite no.

[120] Your standard full sized keyboard, no missing buttons.

[121] No, god almighty no. https://i.imgur.com/8Km5YF2.png

[122] Polling rate is so low that chord splitting doesn't come into play.
[123] This polling is lower than any board I've ever seen, please stay away.

[124] Other Leopold hardware likely holds comparable specs.

[125] As a TKL, this board does not have the numpad row. If you use the other numbers, your general use
may not be impacted much by this change.

[126] Black, Blue, Brown, Red, Silent Red, Silver, Clear

was used: https://i.imgur.com/VpcLiAV.png

Another source from quaver:

https://i.imgur.com/j4sLVA7.jpg

[128] More data is needed, but it definitely is not a low speed polling device over PS/2 based on this image
from Kektus on quaver. This same song was played over USB and it showed huge polling lines: https://i.
imgur.com/j4sLVA7.jpg

[129] Polling rate is so low that chord splitting doesn't come into play.

[130] Unacceptable polling rate for rhythm games. It may be okay with PS/2 passthrough but more data is
needed to be certain.

[131] This product is no longer in production, you'd need to buy it from third party resellers.

Note: This is a BLUETOOTH keyboard, you are forced to use a wireless transmission, which may be a
break point for latency!

[132] Your standard full sized keyboard, no missing buttons.

[133] I don't accept osu for high polling rates, but this is low and the deadzones are pretty clear. They get
about 9 zones in the 300 window which is indicative of 125hz given this is OD8 (+/-32ms in STD).

Examples:
https://i.imgur.com/ktTmPtQ.png
https://i.imgur.com/CTwMqxQ.png

Original vid:
https://youtu.be/4hy5pd3Ufa0

[134] Needs more data, I cannot determine this with osu replay data.

[135] It's all random resellers, there is a seemingly large average markup on this rather unremarkable
keyboard. No idea why. Anywhere from $100 to several hundred.

[136] I cannot recommend a bluetooth keyboard. I cannot recommend a 125hz polling rate keyboard. I
cannot recommend spending hundreds of dollars on a rubber dome KB for any reason, let alone for rhythm
games.

[137] Your standard full sized keyboard, no missing buttons.

[138] User and site sources suggest 500hz for some reason. I don't see any dead zones on profile, so I'm
willing to grant 500hz as it's not in the KB's favor.

[139] The user doesn't hit accurately and I couldn't find and chord heavy plays, but across several JS files I
could not find hits without at least 2ms between hits. So this board likely has a 2ms chord split, which is not
a huge deal.

[140] If you're going to spend for RG, buying a new rubber dome at the $40+ price range (apparently user
says SEVENTY on their website) is not worthwhile. You can get a rubber dome board with similar results
for much cheaper if you shop around. 500hz should be practically fine, but you may as well just get a
1000Hz board on an actual mech for not much more.

[141] Your standard full sized keyboard, no missing buttons.

[142] No visible issues with chords during play. EO replays seem to indicate sub 1ms hits as possible.
Perhaps 1ms unstable at worst (beyond negligable)

Reference video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wW03_End6lc&feature=youtu.be

[143] OSU person, I cannot link EO profile info for replay visuals.

[144] On all listed points I would consider this fair, however the user reports having to switch keybinds 6
times in 2 months, which is a pretty high rate of switch death. While this could be a one off, for a sample
size of one, I will leave as mixed until more experiences counterbalance it.

UPDATE: More reports of early switch death, just going to leave this on Mixed indefinitely due to durability
concerns.

[149] USERS NOTE: Keycaps break on this board very quickly (once every couple weeks). It happened
over 20 times! Price appears to be on the high end without other benifit for RG, making other logitech
boards likely a more sensible buy.

[150] Your standard full sized keyboard, no missing buttons.

[151] The tightest scores Don has set are on this board, which includes the tightest ranked file score ever
set.

[152] Acceptable for rhythm games, able to hit very accurately at a good price point.

[153] Your standard full sized keyboard, no missing buttons.

[154] We have a user who is fairly confident that they set scores with a k120 and has replay data with clear
polling at 125hz. https://i.imgur.com/hpsRwj9.png

[155] Polling rate is so low that chord splitting doesn't come into play.

[156] More data is needed on this board, but 125hz is not acceptable for rhythm gaming.

[157] At 60%, the numpad, navigation keys, and function keys are all removed. Most functionality will be
accessible through added function shortcut binds.

[159] Perfectly fine USB polling. No clear polling lines, able to hit very tightly (e.g. 99.997%) https://i.imgur.

[160] Used PS/2 converter dongle, device failed to power on at all.

[161] Board doesn't appear to split chords to any significant capacity. Chords appear like taps. Example

[162] Also many others

[163] Many people have had good and bad experiences with this board. Board quality is effectively random.
UPDATE: I bought a second one for testing and it's doing hard input drops weeks after using it so, yeah big
RNG.

[164] As a TKL, this board does not have the numpad row. If you use the other numbers, your general use
may not be impacted much by this change.

[165] Outemu switches are reported to be problematic with chatter (aka unintentional extra inputs), pretty
much universally. Bad for rhythm games, especially for consistency and accuracy.

[169] Bad switches, bad polling rate. Low price point does not save this from being a poor board for RG.

250hz: https://i.imgur.com/IVVcc48.png

Secondary source indicates an inability to go below approxamate multiples of 4ms in testing: https://i.imgur.

There is an odd phenomenon where you can send ONLY one key in the same polling cycle consistently if
you press 3 keys at once. Strange but unacceptable still.

[178] After thorough re-review, our initial entry was thrown out after we got our hands on a QPAD to test.
This KB isn't acceptable for rhythm games, especially over USB.

[179] As a TKL, this board does not have the numpad row. If you use the other numbers, your general use
may not be impacted much by this change.

[180] This board is able to properly send simultaneous keystrokes weithin a poll cycle with some
consistency, but may be slightly unstable given our tests:

[181] The hardware controller is acceptable for rhythm games, albeit at a higher price point. The user
reports high actuation, but other reports suggest extremely trigger happy inputs which would result in a lot
of extra input nonsense for RG you wouldn't ever want.

accessible through added function shortcut binds.

Outemu switches are reported to be problematic with chatter (aka unintentional extra inputs), pretty much
universally. Bad for rhythm games, especially for consistency and accuracy.

[184] Input test reveals approxamate multiples of 8ms consistently, which places this board in the 125hz
group: https://i.imgur.com/r961vaU.png

[189] All plays I could test from the user do not imply dead zones, HOWEVER, more data is needed to
make a conclusion in my opinion.

[190] There is a lot of user error but it does seem reasonably possible for this board to pump out sub 1ms
hits on jumps or chords. At worst it's unstable with a negligable value.

[191] More data is needed, but I cannot recommend a board with switches with as many reported problems
as outemus.

[192] Your standard full sized keyboard, no missing buttons.

[194] Do NOT use this KB on USB. Clear polling lines around 7-8ms apart.

[195] The Rosewill comes with a PS/2 dongle, use it. No clear polling lines, able to hit very tightly (e.g.

Key press test shows arbitrary values with seemingly no pattern, for cross confirmation of a likely 1000hz
board: https://i.imgur.com/2ty7efU.png

[196] Generally 1-2ms between each note. Appears to potentially vary slightly. https://i.imgur.com/4FDI00w.

Press test reveals the same thing, very consistently between 1-2ms: https://i.imgur.com/HqmvYVd.png

[197] With PS/2 passthrough, this board is acceptable to use for rhythm games. While it does split chords at
the 1ms level, this won't stop you from setting pretty tight scores. Okay for the price point.

[198] As a TKL, this board does not have the numpad row. If you use the other numbers, your general use
may not be impacted much by this change.

[201] Cannot seem to find indications this board can reasonably tap chords within a single polling cycle.
Average chord split seems to be around 2ms at its best: https://i.imgur.com/xIluXZx.png

[202] Notable chord split, however a 1000hz board at less than $60 is within an acceptable range. It has
wireless capabilities, but please use wired connection for rhythm games if you get it to prevent added
latency.

[208] The splitting appears to be unstable ranging from .1 - 1ms, but staying closer on average towards
1ms. Pictured here are CJs he RFCd, clearly consistently seperated: https://i.imgur.com/pg29Imy.png

[209] Acceptable for rhythm games, albeit at a quite high price point. The chord splitting is present but
relatively minor at 1ms deviations. At it's price, it's likely more worth it to burn through 2-3 other mechs of
reasonable RG quality.
[210] Your standard full sized keyboard, no missing buttons.

[211] It seems like it might be slightly splitting, more data is needed.

[212] Acceptable to use for rhythm games, able to hit pretty accurately at a reasonable price point. There
may be some 1ms chord splitting, more data is needed.

Outemu switches are reported to be problematic with chatter (aka unintentional extra inputs), pretty much
universally. Bad for rhythm games, especially for consistency and accuracy.

[215] I cannot begin to describe my disappointment: https://i.imgur.com/FoSvIIe.png

This board may be unstable and have 125hz output at times too as seen in other plays (https://i.imgur.
com/nF0PkT3.png), but this is beyond unacceptable.

[216] Polling rate is so low that chord splitting doesn't come into play.

[217] Do not buy this. Stay away.

accessible through added function shortcut binds.

[219] Blue, Brown, Black, Red

[220] Perfect straight lines on a 200bpm song (Issac's Viking Crusade) implies 100hz polling, though the
lines are around 12ms between polls, so potentially slightly lower. Polling is so blatant: https://i.imgur.
com/o6zyb6l.png

[221] This board seems incapable of hitting more than one note per poll cycle. This is severe at this polling
rate: https://i.imgur.com/ikvuSGC.png

[222] Please do not buy this keyboard for rhythm games.

[223] Please do not use this program on its own to grab data, especially if you are not experienced. If you
know what patterns to look for, it does reflect Etterna replay data pretty much spot on though.

If you try and send me messages with this, I will still want Etterna replay data to analyze!
