GALVO ADJUSTMENT

You will need to use the USB programmer to do this procedure and a Galvo bypass wire.
Remember the 7 minute timeout ~ recycle AC power if necessary.

1. Assuming that the unit is completely opened from the front, turn off the high voltage and
place a piece of masking tape across the scan slot.

2. Measure 6 ¾ inches from the trigger side of the cylinder and mark it with a dot.

3. Unplug the Galvo from the PMT board and insert the Galvo bypass wire. If you do not
have the jumper set. Please see the image below.
4. Unplug the eraser board and the home sensor on the power distribution board.

5. Turn on CR and open slider program. Click on “read EEPROM”, once the programmer
has read EEPROM. Click on “Program Device”. (Caution: Do not change any of the
setting)

6. Loosen the mounting “C” bracket enough for Galvo to move freely enough so that the
adjustment is not forced. The laser should turn on, but the Galvo should not oscillate,
this will allow you to centered the laser beam on the 6 ¾ spot. Adjust the body of the
Galvo laterally left-and-right in order for the laser spot to be centered.

7. Tighten Galvo mounting “C” bracket while observing the laser spot does not move.

8. Turn OFF AC power, remove jumper and re-connect all unplugged connectors.
REMEMBER TO:
1. Remove the masking tape covering the laser slot
2. Turn ON PMT high voltage switches on the PMT board
(2 red switches labeled SW1 & SW2, switch outward toward PCBA edge)
3. Reinstall the “Home” sensor connector to the Power Distribution Board
(2 pin connector at J6)
4. Reinstall the eraser connector to the Power Distribution Board
(7 pin connector labeled J9)
5. Install bezel plate in lower slot
6. Clean small and long mirrors
