1.1 This testing method describes a procedure commonly known as the Standard Infiltration Test (SPT) for driving a sampling sampler from a 140-pound (63.5 kg) hammer sample to identify and measure soil resistance to penetration of a standard sampler with a diameter of 2 inches .
required to run the breakdown at a depth interval of 0.5 to 1.5 feet (0.15 to 0.45 m) of the disk interval of 1.5 feet. 1.2 The D4633 test method is usually required to measure the energy of the drilling rod of a given fall hammer system and using the measured energy of the drill rod, N values
can be adjusted to the standard energy level. The D6066 uses D1586 and D4633 testing methods and has additional requirements for hammers, hammer energy and drilling techniques to determine the energy correction of the stability of loose sands penetration to assess liquefaction. 1.3
The practice of the D3550/D3550M is a similar procedure using a large diameter split barrel sampler driven with a hammer system that can allow for another hammer mass. The penetration resistance values from practice D3550/D3550M do not meet this standard. 1.4 Test results and
identification information are used in subsoil studies for a wide range of applications, such as geotechnical, geological, geoanviral or geohydrological studies. If detailed lithology is needed for geohydrological research, it is recommended that continuous sampling techniques be used
(D6282/D6282M, D6151/D6151M, D6914/D6914M) when no phased SPT N is required for design purposes (see 4.1.1). 1.5 Testing for penetration resistance is usually conducted at an interval of 5 feet (1.5 m) or when materials change significantly during drilling unless otherwise stated.
1.6 This method of testing is limited to the use of non-liteized soils and soils, the maximum particle size of which is about half the diameter of the breakdown. 1.7 This testing method involves the use of rotary drilling equipment (Guide D5783, Practice D6151/D6151M). Other drilling and
sampling procedures (Guides D6286 and D6169/D6169M) are available and may be more appropriate. Considerations of manual driving or small-scale sampling without wells are not considered. Underground studies must be registered in accordance with the practice of D5434. Samples
must be stored and transported in accordance with the practice of D4220/D4220M using Group B samples. Soil samples must be identified by group name and symbol in accordance with D2488 practice. 1.8 All observed and calculated values must comply with the guidelines for significant
numbers and rounds established in practice by D6026, unless they have been withered with this Testing. 1.8.1 Procedures used to calculate how data is collected/recorded and calculated in a standard are considered as an industry standard. They are also from a representative of significant
figures that usually need to be retained. Teh Teh Do not take into account material differences, data retrievial purposes, special purpose studies or any considerations for the user's purposes; and the usual thing is to increase or reduce the significant figures of reported data commodified
with these considerations. These testing methods do not address the significant numbers used in engineering data analysis methods. 1.9 Units-Values declared either in inch-pound or SI units (represented in brackets) should be considered separately as standard. The values stated in each
system may not be the exact equivalents; therefore, each system must be used independently of the other. Combining values from these two systems can lead to non-compliant standards. Reporting test results in non-inch pound units should not be considered a mismatch. The equivalent
SI units shown in the present are generally in line with existing international standards. 1.10 Measurements of penetration resistance often include security planning, administration and documentation. This testing method is not designed to address all aspects of site intelligence and security.
1.11 Performance tests usually involve the use of a drilling rig; therefore, the safety requirements set out in applicable safety standards (e.g. OSHA rules, NDA drilling safety manual, drilling safety manuals, and other applicable local agency rules) must be complied with. 1.12 This standard is
not designed to address all security concerns, if any, related to its use. The user of this standard is responsible for establishing good safety, health and environmental practices and determining the applicability of regulatory restrictions before they are applied. 1.13 This international standard
was developed in accordance with the internationally recognized standardization principles established in the International Standards, Guidelines and Recommendations Decision issued by the World Trade Organization Committee on Trade Barriers to Trade (TBT). 1. Area 1.1 This testing
method describes a procedure commonly known as the Standard Infiltration Test (SPT) for driving a split-barrel sampler to obtain a representative soil sample and measure soil resistance to the penetration of the sampler. 1.2 This standard is not designed to address all security issues, if

for driving a split barrel sampler to obtain a representative disturbed soil sample for the purpose of identifying and measuring soil resistance to sampling. Another method (Test Method D 3550) to drive a split barrel sampler to produce a representative soil sample is available, but the
hammer's energy is not standardized. 1.2 Practice D 6066 provides guidance on the definition of normalized sand penetration resistance to adjust N-value energy to a permanent energy level to assess liquefaction potential. 1.3 Test results and identification information are used to assess
underground foundation design conditions. 1.4 Testing infiltration is usually carried out at intervals of 5 feet or when materials change significantly during drilling, unless otherwise stated. 1.5 It's This the method is limited to use in unlitified soils and soils, the maximum particle size of which is

mathematical transformations into SI units that are only available for information and are not considered standard. 1.8.1 When working with inches-pound units, the gravitational system of inches-pound units is used. In this system the pound (lbf) is a unit of force (weight), while the unit for
mass is a bullet. 1.9 Measurements of resistance to penetration often include security planning, administration, and documentation. This testing method is not designed to address all aspects of site intelligence and security. This standard is not designed to address all security issues, if any,
