Fittings Jointing Instructions for Rubber Ring Joints

• Make sure the spigot end and inner side of

socket is clean and the sealing ring is
placed evenly in the socket.
• While cutting the pipe, make sure that it
should cut square. Cut end of pipes should

be deburred and chamfered to an angle of
15° with a medium file. This helps in
avoiding displacement of the rubber ring.
• A correct depth of entry of the spigot into
the socket is required to allow for thermal
movements. To achieve this, measure the
insertion depth of socket and make a mark

on the pipe spigot. Make another mark
10mm shorter than earlier marked length
on spigot with bold line. This bold mark
indicates the correct depth of entry to
allow necessary expansion gap.
• Apply Supreme SILAID rubber lubricant

spigot into the socket with light twisting
motion up to the 2nd bold marked line
leaving 10mm to allow for expansion gap.
• The joint is now ready and required no
