This week you worked on your research
We have all be asked to do a visual production with working
around lockdown rules. And make it appealing enough for the
Raindance film festival. (some other rules) we cannot talk about
lockdown or covid in are film.
Writing are brief for are film highlighted what genre we can do
during lockdown easier. And gives us some idea for are fitting
genre.
Analysing videos gives us an idea of the code and conventions
that short horror films have or don’t have. We then take this
small bit of help and branch out ideas we can do similarly.
We learnt some key camera angled we can include in are horror
film to play on the viewers fear with. We learnt the shots and the
reason for why they are popular use in most horror films.
We are more then ahead as we have an idea of a horror film, we
want do from the films we have researched.
We are on track for this week only need to include photos for are
film research – we cannot put in photos for creep as Netflix
won’t allow for copy right reasons
This week you worked on your planning
We found out some social media accounts that promote their
upcoming films and how they use hype to bring in an audience
Its helped us for are planning for when we design a social media
account to gain a target audience and how they use codes and
conventions as well as rules to gain there audience
We’ve had ideas that we thought we could include in are
production but we have stuck to the original plan I had to make
the film possible.
We unsured that the story board was to a high enough stranded
by drawing each shot as well as draw a sketch of the shot. It was
a lot easier as we were doing the film in my house so I mapped
out how and where we are going to do each shot as I know my
house well enough to do so.
To my understanding we didn’t have any issue to the planning
we had only dedication for what we had in mind

An issue we had was timing, we couldn’t have everyone we
wanted in one day as we tried to squeeze it all into one day but it
wasn’t possible. so, the next few days we had other people play
other characters as most of the time we had them in masks or just
didn’t include them in the final shot we had
We decided to chose my house as it’s a very open planned house
and didn’t need much permission to film there as its my house. I
also had many ideas I wanted to recreate for shot wise which
would only be possible in my house.
We went off the production schedule a bit but we still made it
possible at the end of the week
We are on track this week as we have completed the filming we
wanted and all the shots we wanted to include as well.
All we have to do is editing which we will finish next weekend.

Week 4 This week you worked on editing your production

The editing process was difficult to begin with
as we didn’t really have an idea on how to edit
a horror film all I knew was that it’s the most
important part in any horror film as the sound is
more important than the visual in a horror film
I learnt that the editing in a horror film you can
be as creative as possible. flashing lights or images and loud
distorted uncoordinated music is a good way to disturbed the
audience.

We used the screen shots of rape scene to distract the bad acting
and also make it more sick and twisted and also to fit into killers
shoes
We didn’t really know how to edit a horror film so we used
techniques from other horror films to create a better horror film
experience.
We are ahead of this week as we have completed editing all
together and added everything we need as well as uploaded it to
YouTube.
We don’t need to complete anymore work outside lesson we can
move onto the next task.

We used square space as it had the freest tools to use to
make a website and Instagram as we are more familiar
with using the Instagram platform then any other social
media so would be a lot more easy to create
We used the social media account to promote are film by adding
teaser photos of the film and adding links to the film. We also
used hashtags on each post we had for the target audience we
wanted to attract which was horror film fans.
I feel its effective enough for horror film fans to be attracted to
watch are video
It compares with some behind the scenes photos as some social
media platforms of films do so as well as colours. Most social
media platforms for upcoming films use a colour to brand and
market their film. We used red as it relates to the colour blood,
and is the colour to be fitting for are horror film
