Women were seen to have been
beneficial to the workforce of
America. The video depicted these
women as helpful and crucial
memebers of society as the men
went to war on the battle front.

bettered the war efforts. They also
discussed the benefits of women to
the economy on the homefront.

Women were in charge of were seen to have been patriotic,
several jobs that were both proud and nationalistic. This
labor demanding and video seemed to have been a
tedious. Women partook in method of propaganda to those
occupations such as who were being called on to be
teachers, nurses, enrolled in helping the
production lines, factory homefront. The women in the

This video created a great understand of women and their roles during WWII. When watching
This video, it was important to see how women have evolved in comparison to WWI. There was
Quote at the end of the video in which a woman said “In 1917, we were on the sidelines”. This
quote stood out to me since it proved that women wanted and were counted on to be involved
in both the battlefront and assisting on the home front. This video is a good recount of the past
it provides first-hand accounts of jobs and work women were expected to do. I find that visuals
are great tools to use in history since it allows you to visually grasp the concept. By seeing the
video footage and real figures during that time speak, it gave insight as to what was going on
for those individuals. It is important to highlight the different groups that contributed to the
war effort both at home and on the battle field. Women were in the midst of gaining respect
and bettering their reputation, however, in hindsight, they had a long way for equality.

Students will benefit from this assignment since it allows them to analyze and interact with a
primary source. This will be used to tap into students prior knowledge and enable them to
feel comfortable to ask questions if their answers were not concluded within the information
and content within the video. Students will be evaluated based on the ability to formulate
answers based on corresponding questions as well as formulate answers based on their
feelings and reflection of this video. They will also be evaluated on their ability to complete
the questions with purpose, complexity, and depth. This will ensure that they are able to
formulate ideas and opinions from sources and prior knowledge.
