A BLUEPRINT FOR CHANGE: HOW TO MAKE AND MARKET YOUR ADVOCACY

On September 11, I attended an online seminar by the AdCreate Society which explored

the topic of creating an advocacy brand and marketing it effectively. There were 2 speaker which

are alumni of De La Salle University. They are both the CEO of their business that aims to help

people and charities and to empower indigenous groups and protect their homes. During their

speech, they gave us tips on how to they were able to be who they are today using their passion

and goals. With the help of advertising, marketing, and other means of pursuing your dream, you

can also help others through these. The first speaker, Ms. Jaznin Ramos, dedicated 65% of her

business’ profit to the charity and there has different beneficiary every month. The last speaker,

Ms. Issa Barte, is the founder of Fund the Forest currently providing short term relief to our

partner communities and other vulnerable groups who are heavily affected by COVID-19.

While making profits with their business, they didn’t forget to help other people. One

thing that made an impact to me is to think of something big that makes me do it and fit my

reality to my dreams not the other way around that will lead me to a good foundation. I also liked

that both of their passion turned into their jobs which make it more enjoyable for them and make

them less tired in doing it. In making an advocacy, it is important to surround yourself with the

right people and never fear failure in specially when it is just the beginning. The purpose of the

advocacy will serve as my motivation and imagination is my weapon. To further develop this,

advertising and marketing is also very important. Connect with the people while using our

emotions. Be clear in expressing our message and what we want to convey. By doing our

business, it also helps our advocacy.
