Global Pandemic: Economic Impacts and Revitalization of Tourism

and Hospitality Industry

The relevance to the Philippine Economy of the topic presented to us gives us ideas
into solving the impacts of economic crisis cause by the pandemic. Many firms will need
to adjust to the new normal in order to continue operating. Some small and big
businesses closed down and some are struggling to cope up with the new normal and
we do understand that.

From the start of the pandemic many business owners that already exists tried their
best to survive because when the pandemic strikes a lot of problems rise up and threats
to their business. The tourism industry is also affected by the pandemic. Due to the
economic decline, tourist attractions became impossible to run as well because of the
implemented protocol.

Although there are lot of negativity we should not forget the opportunities it brings out to
each person who aspire to be someone in the industry. People start to think outside the
box and continue to create innovations to sustain money and their living. Just like what
the speakers said, praying with the mix of hard work will make everything work out
eventually.

In a team, employers must treat their employees with importance. After all, they are one
of the contributors to making your product or service well received by the consumers.
We should treat them as business partners, as what the first speaker indicated based
on her experiences.

There are ways to cope up from the pandemic, like praying and having strong faith to
whatever you and the business will venture, know the threats of nature to the business,
thinking of plans to innovate and restore business, promoting the business, and
adherence to the protocols.

One of the top partners of tourism industry is the social media. Social media shows wide
opportunity to any sectors of business and tourism. It has a lot of pros that would help to
make the products or service known to the consumers. In every solution that was think
of, it will surely be a lot of work. It still up to your mindset if you want to succeed or to
shrink down.

The second speaker speaks about her own expertise, which is the credit card. Those
cards become another way for easier transactions to the consumer and to the business
owner. Without risking the health and safety of both parties, credit cards surely have a
great contribution to the economy.

As any easier of harder ways of living, there are pros and cons in using credit cards.
First of all, are you liable to apply for a credit card? Because of the pandemic, providers
of credit card have a stricter requirement for the applicants because they have to make
sure that they are giving it to those who are capable of paying loans. The saying, “Great
things do not come easily,” speaks for itself and to the journey the business you have
been undergoing.

Second is the responsibility you will shoulder once you successfully pass the application
and you are approved. Swiping your cards can be addicting and the holder might get
out of control if he or she did not pay close attention to what he or she is spending. But
after it all, we could not deny the help of credit cards to its holders.

Lastly, the third speaker talked about strong will in overcoming the negativity of the
pandemic. People of all ages are not safe when it comes to mental health and
depression. Anyone can experience it so we must also take care of our well-being.
Having a healthy mindset leads to a healthy business or service.

It is important in reviving businesses because a persons’ will to succeed will most likely
to be achieved if the person have that strong will to reach his or her goals. The negative
or the failure you will experience must be a stepping stone for you to a greater good.

The limited type of situation we are in is not easy at all. Everyone experiences worst
case scenario in their everyday life and not all of us have the capacity to fulfill goals
unless given the easier way. We should be grateful and help each other to the
betterment of one another. “Man is no island,” so we must help those who needed
guidance and we should be open to those who want to help.

The discussed above are samples only in how the speakers overcome the pandemic.
There are lot of ways still need to be discover and you should take the initiative to look
for it, especially if it will work for you.

We are the future of the industry and the shared topics will surely help us in the future.
The reference they gave to us will pile up and create new innovative solutions to future
problem. Still experience is the best teacher.
