School Book Fair
DIGITAL BOOKS NEW
The Farmland Media Center is
excited to announce a new way
to feed your love of reading- digital books!
An extensive collection of online books can
be found at
http://soraapp.com/welcome/login/202715
. Here, you can browse through many titles,
genres, and authors, and check out a book
virtually!
Please keep in mind that just like the
media center library, some books may
already be checked out. If this happens,
you can put your name on the waiting list.
Kindergarten through second grade may
check out one book at a time, while third
through fifth grade may check out 2 books.
FEBRUARY
BOOK FAIR
It the most wonderful time of the year!
The Book Fair is approaching! This year's
book fair will take place the week of
March 8th - 12th. Teachers will have the
opportunity to sign their class up for a
30 minute slot during the school day.
The book fair will also be open before
school from 8-9am and after school
from 4-5pm. Parents- if you would like
to volunteer to help out, please contact
me at FESMediacenter@mcpsmd.org
TECH TOOLS
Check out this month's awesome
technology tool: Padlet!

Padlet is a great tool to create
presentations about anything! You can
make a goal board, school project, or
even use it to record opinions, ideas, or
answers. Teachers- Padlet also lends
itself effortlessly to collaborative
projects! Multiple students can work on
a Padlet at once, and changes are
automatically saved so that nothing gets
lost!
Intersted in Padlet but don't know
where to start? We will be offering a
Padlet workshop for teachers and
students on Monday, February 8th at
4:30 pm in the media center.

Looking for something new to read? Come check out
our BRAND NEW BOOKS! You can find these books in
the special shelving area for the next two months.
Based on requests, we received new picture books,
chapter books series, biographies, graphic novels,
and more! Come see for yourself! Special thanks to
the PTA and our fantastic FES families for raising the
funds for these books!

BOOK CLUB
Join us for the next book club meeting!
Interested students in grades K-2 are meeting every
Tuesday during recess beginning 2/23 and will start
with reading Katie Woo: Best Season Ever
Interested students in grades 3-5 are meeting
every Wednesday during recess beginning 2/24
and will read The One and Only Ivan
