To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing to recommend Christina Carey for a position in your school. Christina has been a leave
replacement at Paul D. Schreiber High School in both Health and Physical Education over the past 18
months.

Christina Carey is a unique educator. While still at the start of her career she already demonstrates an
understanding about building successful, meaningful relationships with her students and colleagues.
Further, Christina has sought out opportunities to make herself a part of our community by attending
events, coordinating Unity Day as well as becoming a club advisor and coach– not the typical behavior of
a leave replacement. Most unique however is the enthusiasm and energy that she brings to school every
day without fail. Christina has a positive, can-do attitude that is infectious and attracts all members of the
school community.

It is important to note that Christina also takes her instructional skills and lesson planning seriously
refusing to rely solely on her personality to provide a powerful classroom experience. She has welcomed
feedback throughout the observation process and routinely incorporates suggestions into her upcoming
lessons. In the short time she has been with us at Schreiber it has been easy to chart her professional
growth, a trend I am sure will continue.

In short, I urge you to meet Christina Carey and consider her for your school. I have no doubt you will see
what I have seen and want to make her part of your school community. If I could keep her I would
without hesitation.

Please do not hesitate to call me with any questions.

Thank you.

Very truly yours,

Ira Pernick, Ed. D.
