What Is A Christmas Wreath?
A wreath is an assortment of leaves, flowers, twigs, fruits, or other decorative
materials that is constructed to form a circle. One of the many traditions done during
the Christmas season is decorating a home with a wreath. The Christmas wreath has
been around for a long time, spanning back to the time of the Ancient Romans.

The very first wreaths were created using fresh evergreens. Evergreens are plants
that have leaves which are always green no matter what the season is. Back then,
evergreens were the best choice to use for making a wreath, because during the winter
season, their leaves would still be a bright green color.

because it can symbolize abundance and everlasting life. Christmas wreaths can even be
given to friends as gifts as a way of wishing the other person a lot of luck and happiness
for the coming new year.

For Christians, the Christmas wreath is used to symbolize the coming of Christ.
They call it the Advent Wreath. It is decorated with 4 candles placed around the wreath,
and with one big white candle in the middle. This middle candle is only lit on Christmas
Eve as a symbol of the arrival of the Light of the World—Jesus Christ. The circular shape
of the wreath, with no beginning or end, represents eternity or life never ending.

Today, whether you are Christian or not, Christmas wreaths are popular
household decorations used yearly all over the world. Some of them still make or buy
wreaths using fresh leaves and twigs, but there are artificial ones that can be bought
from stores. Common adornments to modern wreaths include Christmas balls, ribbons,
poinsettia flowers, and holly fruits.
