WESTERN CLASSICAL PLAYS AND OPERAS

II – OBJECTIVES:

At the end of the lesson, the Grade 9 students are expected to:

a. Discuss the Western Classical Plays and Operas.


b. Show the influences of the selected Western Classical Plays and Operas to
Philippine theatrical performance in terms of form and content of story.
c. Define what makes selected Western Classical Plays and Operas unique through
visual presentation.
d. Perform a group of showcase of the selected piece from Western Classical Plays
and operas.
e. Appreciate the uniqueness and art of the Western Classical Plays and operas.

Activity:

The teacher will divide the class into 3 groups. Each group will be assign to the
three different Theatre Period. Each group will present the kind of theatre of each period
has.

Content – 10pts
Delivery – 10pts
Overall – 10pts
TOTAL – 30pts

VII – INTEGRATION

“MUSICAL PLAY”
The class will be performing a Musical Play either own made story or adaptation
from a popular musical movie/play. They will be given allotted time to practice.

CRITERIA:

Mastery 30%
Choreography 25%
Musicality 25%
Stage Presence 10%
Costume/Props 10%
Total 100%

VIII – ASSIGNMENT
