The objective of a public awareness campaign is to educate people in your school & community about a

specific topic. In this case, the topic is clinical depression and suicide.  Many people who live with mental
illness often, suffer in silence. Others who surround them, miss the warning signs because they’re unaware
of what they are, or don’t know where to go for help. This is where you come in! Information should be
displayed as an advertisement.  The content should be easy to see and understand for students walking
by. 

The following information must appear in an Eye-Catching/Appealing Advertisement:

1. The definition of clinical depression OR Suicide. 

2. 1 fact about suicide or depression. 

3. 4 “Signs and Symptoms” of someone suicidal &/or with clinical depression. 

4. 4 ways offering “How to Help” if you or someone you know is depressed &/or considering suicide. 

5. A working hotline number that provides support via phone call/text message. 

6. A professional (psychologist / social worker) within Paul D. Schreiber High School that can provide mental
health support.  Their Name & Room #. 

7. An Inspirational quote &/phrase.

8. An Inspirational picture.

9. Create a #HASHTAG to raise awareness about mental illness.
