Bengali novel is a major part of 

Bengali literature. Though the first Bengali novel was Karuna O

Phulmonir Bibaran (1852), the Bengali novel actually started its journey with Durgeshnandini written
by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay in 1865. Durgeshnandini is the first Bengali novel as well as the
first major Bengali novel in the history of Bengali literature. The famous writers kazi nojrul islam and
rabindhnath Thakur they wrote novel based on our culture that represent the culture and create
value of our culture but nowadays there are no good writers that’s why people are not interest to
read novel due to some lacking that is impact on our culture by losing the value of culture.

The novel is the body of Bangla language

This is considered to be somewhat of a dark area in our history of Bangla literature.

In this era Muslim writers wrote gojol and influenced islam related culture

In this era begun the Bangla literature revolution with durgeshondhini and stories, poem drama.

In present our language and cultural norms have evolved drastically due to the widespread globalisation

culture closely related and people lifestyle is changing they influence western culture so in future bangla
literature will be losing.

The educational system is going global oriented but the popularity of Bangla novel is going down
because of lacking educational system and people influence other culture. As a result, It is assumed that
people nowadays hardly read Bangla literature because people nowadays prefer English literature
over Bangla literature.
