Regaldo was born in 1917 in the praise of Iloilo Philippines. At the age of 25 he became
a machine gun operator with the infantry regiment, 3rd battalion, company LOP. The Philippine
scouts under the US Army forces in the Far East when troops were forced to surrender in 1942 to
the Japanese after a gaveling three-work battle.
The prisoners were forced to march some 65 miles(105 kilometer) including Regalado to
the camp. Many died during the Bataan death march, some wove killed by Japanese soldiers or
simply killing the people who were unable to make the trek. Luckily, Regaldo survived.
B. How he survived the war
Regaldo survived because he slipped away with two other companion- all of them was
sick because of Malaya. Alorg with their journey to skipping the war they encountered a farmer
who help and cared for them but sadly, only Regaldo lived.
Afterward, he joined a guerilla resistance movement against the Japanese and later
moved to the San Francisco Bay Area to work a civilian for the US Military.
