INTRODUCTION

Successful businesses have the ability to keep the costs at

predetermined levels. They understand that successful operations require

costs to be carefully established and monitored so that greater profit will

result. A feasibility study is the systematic analysis of all the factors that

affect the possibility of success in a business. These will serve as a basis in

deciding whether or not the operation can be sustained. It is a type of a

study that determines the achievability of a business in a competitive

market.

Our business is about supplying and retailing of rice products to

different places particularly within Barangay Asuncion, Maasin City and

other neighboring barangays. “Rice is a profitable business because the rice

is the staple food in our country. There are many rice varieties that

consumers can choose from at low cost. The preferred varieties for daily

meals are white, long grained, and aromatic.” (JSL CO.) One of the most

important basic necessity in a Filipino’s daily life is the consumption of rice.

In many Asian countries, it is considered as an important food. The foods

they choose to eat can have a direct impact on their ability to enjoy life to
the fullest. Perhaps the most obvious positive effect of food is the

pleasurable feeling you get from eating a good-tasting meal. Particularly in

the Philippines the people are known to eat rice in very meal three times a

day in order for them to have the energy to use in their daily lives. We

Filipinos used to have rice in every breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Nowadays,

we love to have an extra rice every time we eat outside. There are many food

businesses like restaurants that provide unlimited rice. Filipinos can’t stand

eating without having rice in every meal. That is the reason why are we

going to introduce our business by planning and offering high quality

products priced at a fair competitive prices.

Therefore, putting up a rice retailer business named “Rice and Shine”

is a wise and a good choice because of the high demand of rice here in our

country. It will offer high quality but affordable varieties of rice that are

guaranteed to satisfy our customers. We aimed to achieve all our business

objectives and goals in meeting the desired demand of our customers

envisioning a healthier community.

 To meet the demand of the consumers.

 To give the customer quality rice at fair competitive price.

 To provide jobs within the community.

 To know the potential buyers.

 To build good relationship to the customers.

B. MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission is to offer a good quality of rice that would promote

the community’s health and wellness at fair competitive prices and

building a good customer relationship by providing quick assistance

whenever there is a concern or complaint raised regarding the

products so that the customers will leave the store satisfied. We will

focus on anticipating the basic needs of people in their everyday living

by providing the best quality rice serving to meet customer’s

satisfaction.
C. VISION STATEMENT

We envision to pass the community standard of providing the

best quality and affordable rice in Barangay Asuncion, Maasin City as

well as in the neighboring barangays, and to be one of the best and

leading rice retail business known in Maasin City.

D. SCOPE OF THE STUDY

This feasibility study will cover the management, marketing,

technical, socioeconomic and financial aspect of the business. The

said business will be located at Barangay Asuncion, Maasin City and

the residents of the said barangay will be the respondents of the study

through a market research technique of survey-questionnaires to be

able to determine the aim of the study. The process of dissemination

of the product is through direct selling to customers and the business

will also accept large amount of orders with free delivery within

nearby location and an additional charge will be imposed if deliveries

will be out of the desired location?. Rice and Shine Retailer will also

accept customers and deliveries within Southern Leyte from those

who are willing to purchase the products.
