Lesson 3 WEDGE Command

Modeling toolbar :

Draw menu : Modeling>> Wedge

Command entry : wedge

Creates a 3D solid wedge.

The direction of the taper is always in the positive X-axis direction of the UCS.

Entering a positive value draws the height along the positive Z axis of the current UCS. Entering a
negative value draws the height along the negative Z axis.
The following prompts are displayed.

First corner

Sets the first corner of the wedge base.

Other corner

Sets the opposite corner of the wedge base, located on the X,Y plane.

Center

Creates the wedge by using a specified center point.

Cube
Creates a wedge with sides of equal length.

Length
Creates a wedge with length, width, and height values you specify. The length corresponds to
the X axis, the width to the Y axis, and the height to the Z axis. If you pick a point to specify the
length, you also specify the rotation in the XY plane.

Height

Sets the height of the wedge. Enter a positive value to draw the height along the positive Z axis of
the current UCS. Enter a negative value to draw the height along the negative Z axis

2Point (height)

Defines the height of the wedge by specifying the distance between two points

EXERCISE 3 WEDGE Command

In Drafting and Annotation Workspace

Command: -VPOINT <Enter>


Current view direction: VIEWDIR=0.0000,0.0000,1.0000
Specify a view point or [Rotate] <display compass and tripod>: 1,-1,1 <Enter>
Regenerating model.

Result after –VPOINT executed.

Command: WEDGE <Enter>


Specify first corner or [Center]: {Pick a point anywhere on the screen}
Specify other corner or [Cube/Length]: L <Enter>
Specify length <3.0000>: 4 <Enter>
Specify width <1.0000>: 2 <Enter>
Specify height or [2Point] <2.0000>: 3 <Enter>
