3. Critically analyse how the intersections of race, class, gender affect the
dynamics between the young
man and the American girl in �Blackout�.
4. Comment on how Wilfred Owen depicts the horror of war and the pain of death in
his poem �Dulce et
Decorum Est�.
5. Critically comment on the metaphor of food as explored in Dharker�s poem �At the
Lahore Kadhai�.
6. Some writers attempt to win sympathy for the oppressed by highlighting their
meekness and
innocence. Others write in a style to evoke protest. Which approach do you find
more effective?
