MOLLIES’S in bed, alarm goes off, “song” playing waking
her up. She checks her phone and sees its 8am
MOLLIE
In a lethargic tone
Shit is it that time already
Phone rings. It’s her bestfriend GRACE [v.o]
GRACE
Get up. You’re going to be late. I’ve
been trying to ring you for an hour.
MOLLIE
Okay I’m up. Thankyou. I should get
ready now otherwise I will be late. Bye.
GRACE
Yes, hurry up. Bye see you soon.
Black screen. Now shows MOLLIE in her uniform doing her
hair whilst music plays. Song playing “ “.
EXT. Cut to MOLLIE walking to school with her earphones
in. She sees the girls from her area. They start to
approach her, whilst talking to each other.
TAYLOR
Oi, Mollie! Come here a sec.
MOLLIE takes out one earphone. Looks back, hesitantly
turns around to walk to them.
MOLLIE
Yeah? What’s wrong.
RUBY
We’re gonna allow you to chill with us.

2
MOLLIE is a little shocked and confused as the girls
usually take no notice of her. She smiles and immediately
adjusts the way she’s standing so it’s like the girls.
MOLLIE
Oh now?
MOLLIE looks around thinking of what to say next.
TAYLOR
Well yeah. Just bunk college with us.
MOLLIE nods her head and smiles awkwardly.
The girls all walk off towards the park bench. MOLLIE is
muttering to herself.
MOLLIE/narrator
Shit. Why did I say yes? What am I gonna tell
grace she’s expecting me to go college.
MOLLIE looking at her phone. Messages from grace asking
where she is.
The girls take out a bottle from the bag and start
drinking including MOLLIE.
TAYLOR
Oi, aren’t you glad you came?
MOLLIE doesn’t usually drink. They’ve been out for a
couple hours.
MOLLIE
Erm yeah.
RUBY
Yeah well, I’m gonna go now because I’ve gotta
go shop. You’s still coming?
MILLIE
Yeah coming. Mollie?
MOLLIE’S confused and very tired.
MOLLIE

3
Oh alright. what’s the time?
TAYLOR
In a sarcastic tone
It’s 12pm, why have you got somewhere to be?
INT. She gets home. Checks her phone and sees her mum has
messaged her ‘where were you? The school called. We will
talk about this when I’m back.’
Cuts to the morning. MOLLIE is at college with GRACE.
MOLLIE has a headache. Her lesson is nearly over
GRACE
Why didn’t you turn up yesterday? Your mum
called me asking where you were. Did you bunk?
MOLLIE sighs.
MOLLIE
Oh shit did she. I went out with the girls and
had a drink.
GRACE
What! You went out with the girls? The girls
from your area? And you got drunk? That doesn’t
even sound like you. When did you even speak to
them?
MOLLIE
So I’ve heard. But yeah, them girls. They
called me over before school yesterday and
asked me if I wanted to bunk with them and I
did. I’m in trouble for it too.
GRACE
In a calculating tone, then slowly shifts to sarcastic
and annoyed.
You left me for them? They aren’t your friends.
They’ve never even acknowledged you!
MOLLIE

4
I’m sorry, I should’ve told you I wasn’t coming
but I knew what you’d say. Please leave it now
grace.
GRACE
In a sarcastic tone.
This is so unlike you? Well I’m glad you’ve had
fun.
MOLLIE
Can we not do this. why can’t you be happy for
me? It was one day.
GRACE
The actual Mollie wouldn’t of done it. this
isn’t like you at all, you have changed so
much. You haven’t even messaged me these past
few days. Mollie, come on admit your being
fake.
MOLLIE
Can we not do this. I like that I’m popular and
liked, why can’t you be happy for me?
GRACE gets up and leaves. MOLLIE is sitting realising how
different she really is now. She gets called to stay back
by her teacher.
TEACHER
Why weren’t you in class? Mollie this isn’t
like you. Your late to class and missing
deadlines. And what’s going on with you and
Grace? Your mum said your home late, what’s
going on?
MOLLIE
Nothing, I’ll sort it alright, stay out my
business. can I go?
TEACHER nods. MOLLIE leaves. Puts her earphones in and
plays music[ non diegetic]. Cut to MOLLIE’S room, she’s
looking at herself in the mirror. Muttering to herself.
MOLLIE

5
This isn’t me. What have I done?
The girls message MOLLIE asking her to go out. She
replies, ‘no thank you. I had a good time, but it wasn’t
me, I won’t be seeing you girls anymore’. She then phones
GRACE and apologizes for everything. Shows Mollie saying
‘sorry’ then music plays. Messages her mum and says
sorry. Does all her work and then plays music [same song
from the start] and scene ends.
