Sources of vibration, Equation of Motion, Concept of Dynamic DOF and Constraints, Principle of
vibration analysis, Responses of SDOF system to initial conditions, harmonic loading, impulse
and step loading, Dynamic Amplification Factor, Numerical integration, Problems related to
structural dynamics, Multi degree of freedom (MDOF) system, Dynamic analysis for MDOF
system, Continuous system, Introduction to nonlinear dynamic analysis, Fundamental of
dynamics, Free and force vibration analysis, Direct integration method for dynamic response

2. (MSTR501) Advanced Structural Analysis: Core


Review of fundamental concepts, Energy concepts in structures and transformation of
information, Hyper-static and mobile structures, Flexibility and stiffness method, Direct stiffness
method, Matrix displacement methods, Solution of linear system of equation, Introduction to finite
element methods, Sub-structuring techniques and elastic supports, Non-linear solution
