Hijack #3

Missing something important. When we use

Facebook, sometimes we look for jobs. So if we
don’t use FB, we’re worried we’ll miss a job
posting.

Hijack #4

Social approval! When you post something, you

want to be approved by your peers! Getting
appreciated feels good. FB orchestrates this.

Hijack #5
Social reciprocity! Give and take. If someone
posts a photo on FB and someone gives a
comment, if you don’t reply, then people think
you’re rude. “Seen” We should have the choice
to turn this off.
Hijack #6
Bottomless bowl…the try to take away your
consciousness…even if you’re full, they still treat
you.

Hijack #7
Interruption! Similar with #5. When someone
messages you, and there is the “seen” then you
HAVE TO RESPOND.

Hijack #8
Mixing your reasons and their reasons…they
want to maximize their profits by making you use
more…even if you didn’t intend to. E.G. Milk
and bread and the pharmacy are the most popular
things people buy at the supermarket, but these
are always located AT THE BACK of the
market…rather than the front. FB is like this with
FB connect. Hard to find events. Newsfeed.
