Q1: After watching the video lesson, compare the population distribution of Germany and
Ethiopia. [5 marks]

Germany:
There will be more people aged over 65 then under 15.So this is ageing

population .People of working age will have many elderly people to support.The

percent of tyoung people is low.When they grow up,there wont be enough of them to do all the

all the work.

Ethiopia:
life expentancy is rising in ethiopia .Even so ,the percent of people aged 66 and over will still

be low by 2050.But look at the percent aged under 15.Ethiopia will have a very young
population.

Q2: We cannot be sure about population size in the future, anything could happen. How
might these affect: [5 marks]

a- Global warming melts all the ice in Antarctica.

if all the ice melts then all the water from the melting ice will flow into the oceans .This will
cause global water levels to rise and consequently floods will become common on the surface
________________________________________________________________________

and tsunamis might also rampage the world this will also lead to Antartic animals losing their
habitat and subsequentloi becoming extinct.
b- A deadly superbug appears; antibiotics cannot kill it.

this instence as there would be no effective vaccines or methods to kill this bugs this could
result in a large percentage of humanity being wide of the earth and impact the accelerating

world population tremendously .
