ENGINE OUTPUT ADJUSTMENT ~
in high altitude operation
(DS engines)
In production engines are normally adjusted for 100% output at an atmosphi
justed to a lower output.
Hf thisis not done there is a risk of damage to the engine or reduced engine service life.
Adjust output as per table 1.
5000.
Prerequisites: The engine is normally used at altitudes for whichit is adjusted.
Ambient temperature + 25°C. (With temperatures around +50°C adjustment should be
made for output code as per table 2.)

Note. Temporary operation at higher altitude is possible if it does not exceed 2000 m
Examples: An engine adjusted for sea level (100 %) is operable to a height of 2000 m.
An engine adjusted for a height of 1000 metres (90 %) is operable to a height of 3000 m.
In respect of naturally aspirated engines (DN) also specified output reductions apply which
are submitted by Scania on request.
