Education Program for Clubs

Why revitalize the education program?

The 2010 Strategic Plan called for a renewed focus on leadership and a modernized communication program.
Current skills, competencies, and attributes will continue to form the core of the revitalized education program.

What problems are we facing?

 The existing program is confusing.
 Many projects are outdated.
 Real-world needs of members are not being met.
 Members are not earning educational awards.

Where does the program stand today?

Building the foundation:
 Reviewing materials; identifying skills, competencies & attributes; working with Learning Masters
and professional instructional designers

Strengthening the core competencies:

 Public Speaking
 Leading and Managing
 Interpersonal Communication
 Leading Strategically
 Building Confidence

Program Constants – the same basics, with a new foundation!

 The club experience stays the same with meeting roles and club leadership roles
 Recognition remains central and members are awarded for completion of projects
 Guiding principles remain the same:
o Experiential learning
o Peer feedback
o Mentor-driven
o Self-paced

Real-world applicability – preparing members for real-world situations
