Examples of Adverb Clauses

So far, you’ve been studying different topics and tenses like simple present, present
continuous, simple past and a little about adverbs. Now you’ll study and learn the
adverb clauses, mainly the ones that use ‘while’ and ‘when’.
For that purpose, there will be different exercises so you learn their communicative
function, structure as well as the different types of adverb clauses. Also, you’ll improve
your speaking, listening and reading skills.
In order for you to learn as much as possible, follow the order of the topics as well as
the instructions exactly as they are shown.

Using Adverb Clauses


Using an adverb clause in your sentence is a good way to add important, descriptive
detail and information to your writing. They are flexible and can be placed at the
beginning, middle or end of a sentence, depending on where it sounds best.

●Investigate about the adverb clauses:


Because: Because it is a conjunction, that is to say a word that is used to
join with a certain relation two or more parts of a sentence, or two or more
sentences. The structure of a sentence that uses "because" as a conjunction
can be in two ways: Consequence + Because + Cause.
Because of : Because introduces clauses of cause and reason. It is a
subordinating conjunction. This means that the clause it introduces is a
subordinate clause, which needs a main clause to make it complete.
Why: The name or noun is the type of words whose meaning determines
reality. Nouns name all things: people, objects, sensations, feelings, etc.

Adverb is an invariable part of the sentence that can modify, nuance, or


determine a verb or other adverb.

The pronoun is the word that replaces other terms that designate people or
things at a given time.

The exclamation is an expression or voice that reflects an emotion or an


exaltation of the mood.

While: If something happens while something else happens, the first thing
happens at some point during the time that the second thing is happening.
