 INTRODUCTION

In this activity corresponding to Unit 1, we will analyze the topics related to embryology,

anatomy and histology at the breast level.

This is an issue of great importance to know since in the area of diagnostic images it will

be very common to find various pathologies, both benign and malignant.

The knowledge of these structures at the level of the breast, its most frequent

pathologies will help the medical staff to carry out an effective rapid diagnosis and the

treatments to follow, in order to help patients, it is to remember that one of the most

serious pathologies to level of the breast is breast cancer and is the second most

frequent cause of death in women and therefore a public health problem.

in conclusion. The complexity of the breast, its normal functioning involving the breastfed infant

and the Related pathologies require collaboration between different disciplines, including

anatomy, cancer and cell biology, biochemistry, epidemiology, nutrition, lactation consulting and

medicine. Such collaborations will facilitate approach to the main issues that affect the mother

the breast is innervated by intercostal nerves, the hormones that most influence breast tissues are

estrogens and progesterone.
