To look beyond

(Oubliette 1 + Plot)

Seeing how ineffective his last attempt was, Viktor decided to double his efforts. He
spent more and more of his time conjuring shadows, trying his best to cloak the small room
in Darkness out of this world, hoping what little practical knowledge he had would suffice.
He even went so far as try and reverse-engineer the rituals he had insight into, trying to see
if any secrets would reveal himself.
Further than that, he paid visits to libraries and museums, and some auctions here
and there, trying to uncover anything related to the clandestine nature of his umbral
abilities, searching for anything that could help him finish the process. He needed to get a
grasp on his condition and all of its extensions.
Lastly, with all the time he spent in the House of Cards, he needed a reliable set of
hands and eyes to scout ahead for the Sabbat situation. He had summoned a Shadowy
creature, suffering great pains to do so, and sent it off with specific instructions – for each
night it spend in this world, it’d depart after sunset to search Houma and the paths to New
Orleans, returning before sunrise to report its findings. The Pack was on the move, and
Viktor provided the Talon all of the information he had with hope of results. The Creature
would live for five nights.

Sheriff’s report
This month has been largely uneventful. The Prince would know that Viktor’s helping
hunt down the Sabbat, as well as the appearances of: Benjamin Havel, a feisty Caitiff,
Thadius Rook from Denver, Gangrel Childe of Marcus Duponte, one Avery Driscoll, a
Malkavian from Atlanta who’s Sire passed away, and a Lillian Thibodeaux of clan Gangrel–
her open denunciation of humanity could prove troublesome for the Masquerade and the
Tower.
Aside from the first and last, there was only more thing to report. Viktor would’ve
made a small digression about a Frank Santiago, a Brujah so disrespectful he dared carry a
gun into the Sheriff’s domain. He hadn’t, and won’t, seek reparations, but has voiced his
doubts and the intention to keep an eye on the troublemaker when he had the time. In
Viktor’s opinion, he is dangerous to himself and everybody around him in every possible
way.
