Dark, Dark Times

(Oubliette 1 + Plot)

Viktor’s first order of business, of course, was the scandal regarding Scarlet’s park. As
a possible Masquerade Breach, he made sure to call his Contact in the police department
immediately, as well as showing up on the scene and snooping around the best he could. Of
course, he engaged in small talk with both Kine and the Kindred of the Court, trying to gauge
what people thought and their own doubts and suspicions.
The parcel that was left for him by J. B. was yet another priority as well. He tried
looking through any existing archives of such an event, even visiting the location and asking
around what it might’ve been. If it was needed, he would’ve even used Dominate to pry the
truth and the best possible description of the perpetrator from any workers he could track
down, and visitors as well. Of course, he made sure to note down the details about the
victim if he could, going as far to attempt and schedule a visit with their family, or them
alone should they still be alive.
Lastly, in what little spare time he had, Viktor poured over the details about Abyss
Mysticism Delta had sent him. He knew it was risky, but seeing as such knowledge was rare,
he wanted to study it at the source instead of going further into debt. With every tool at his
disposal he took upon the task of converting a small room in the basement of his domain
into an Oubliette, conjuring the shadows as best he could.

Sheriff’s Report
This month’s report was dull, save for one detail he would’ve added in the post
scriptum. He has met two newcomers; Akseli Mustonen, a Brujah loyal to the tower who
offered his service to the Sheriff, hoping to provide assistance. Viktor had relayed this,
stressing he would appreciate the help and how it needn’t be official yet – if the Prince
didn’t want to grant the Title of Hound to him, he needn’t to. In time Akseli can prove if he’ll
deserve it or not.
The other man, Adam was of the Clan and family Giovanni, and Independent as a
result. He had bought some small accommodations on Camarilla turf, though he hadn’t
requested any larger of a Domain besides the right to have residence in New Orleans. Upon
the Prince’s approval, Viktor can notify him of the feeding limitation to the rack as well as
congratulate his successful arrival to New Orleans.
He had spotted a few more fresh faces in the meantime, although he hadn’t gotten
around to meeting them yet. Instead, he received alarming news – James Snow was plotting
against the Prince, possibly staging a coup, as witnessed by April Van Horn and Sarrasine
Hokusai. The former said she’d stand by that claim, but Viktor hadn’t yet managed to
confirm it with the Harpy. He would’ve requested advice and further directions from the
Prince on the matter.
