serious issues.
Project Overview
Driving question: with the ever growing concern of climate
change how can I educate people on how to eat more
sustainably?

Answer: By making simple, easy to follow, plant-based recipe

videos which I will upload to YouTube and my own website for
this project.
Mentor
My mentor is Ashley Wilcox.

She’s someone who is very knowledgeable on plant-based

living and eating.

She’s helped me develop my recipes and put in her input on

other assignments I’ve had for the class.
Argumentative Essay
For my argumentative essay I wrote about the impact of
animal agriculture on our planet. I talked about how we
use an excessive amount of land and natural resources to
raise and tend to livestock.

● Someone who eats meat uses 2.67 acres of land while a

person who eats plant-based uses 0.35 acres.
Project Vision
The vision for my project was to make a series of
plant-based recipes on my youtube channel
‘Cooking with Cat’ that were affordable, quick,
and easy to make.
Phase 1
Phase 1 of my project was to come up with some
recipes with my mentor.

Also to film a breakfast and lunch video

Breakfast Video
My first video was my video for breakfast. For that I did a
tofu scramble. I finished this video mid October and
uploaded it to my YouTube channel.
Lunch Video
My second video was for lunch and for that I made a vegan
chickpea “tuna” sandwich. I finished this video beginning of
November and uploaded it to my YouTube channel.
Phase 2
In phase 2 it was time to come up with some more
recipes, this time some more for lunch as I
figured this would be these would be the most
common meals.
2nd Lunch Video
For my second lunch video I made some veggie cabbage wraps
with creamy cashew sauce
2nd Lunch Video
For my second lunch video I made a tofu stir fry. This is a
meal that I make often so it was pretty easy for me to get
together.
Phase 3
Phase 3 of my project was finally putting
together a dinner video and uploading that to my
channel as well.

This would complete what I set out to do for my

project.
Dinner Video
For the dinner video I decided to do a meal I’d never done
before which was tomato basil soup with grilled non-dairy
“cheese.”
Project Reflection
I had a lot of fun creating the recipes and speaking
on something I’m passionate about.

One thing I would change is the lighting in my

videos. Also maybe having someone to help me film
would’ve been nice.
Takeaways for the future
● Lighting in videos and pictures is very
important!

● Time management skills

● Communication is key!
