Reflection: OB Case Vignette about Preeclampsia

Being able to accomplish our case vignette is a great feeling. Doing this
became a challenge and an opportunity for me. A challenge because given the
fact that we have other requirements on other subject, and we have our own
difficulties as well, which hinder us in making the task given to us by our leader.
Some of our own difficulties were the power interruption and unstable internet
connection. However, this also became an opportunity for me, since I gained a lot
from it. It provides limitless knowledge, because there are a lot of new
terminologies which I only encountered on this case. I am glad that I was able to
comprehend those terms.
Studying the case of Niva gave me a lot of learning experiences. I was
able to know the different causative agents of the condition. I learned that having
a hypertension during pregnancy would possibly results to different
complications, in which could put both the mother and the baby at high-risk. This
condition, if left untreated would make the mother experience seizure which is
very life-threatening. In addition, I was able also to appreciate this case through
the curiosity that I felt while I was reading the case. My curiosity leads me to look
for more about the case, especially on the part assigned to me which is the
nursing diagnosis.
After a week of accomplishing our case vignette - from the sleepless
nights, from the time that we were thinking where to insert doing our assigned
task, because of the hectic schedule each of us has, and from the group practice
which we hardly do, because some of us weren't available. Still, we managed to
finish our case vignette, and I can say that it was all worth it. I am thankful to my
groupmates, who really give their best just to finish the task, and I am also
thankful to our clinical instructor, because we felt that we were well-guided all
throughout. Also, this case became an interesting topic for me. It helps me to
imagined what really happens in a real scenario. Hopefully, if the situation allows
us, I would be able also to encounter and have grasp about other conditions
regarding mother and newborn.
