Introduction:
Microsoft Corporation is an American Multinational Company. It is a technology
Company founded in 1975 by Bill Gates and Paul Allen and it’s Headquarter is at
Redmond Washington.
It is a big five information Technology company.CEO of Microsoft is Satya Nadela
Microsoft stands for Micro Software.
Microsoft had reached a trillion dollar market cap and one of the leading software
companies In 1993 it released Windows NT, a landmark program that tied disparate PCs
together. It has dominance in the operating system.
Microsoft has about 166K employees as per 2020 data. And net income 44.3 billion
dollars. And it has ownership of Github, Skype communication, Yammer, LinkedIn and
many more. In Today's time Microsoft uses all modern technology like AI, ML, Robotics
and cloud computing.
In Microsoft Word and Excel Powerpoint all these apps we can see AI based features.
Moved into Cloud computing, where application software and data storage are provided
by centralized Internet services and are simply accessed by users through their local PCs.
Microsoft released its Windows Azure in 2014 Azure lets service providers or businesses
build computing infrastructure in the “cloud” and then offer the infrastructure as services to
users.

Machine learning / Deep learning:
ML is a science of designing and applying algorithms that are able to learn things from
past cases. If some behaviour exists in the past, then you may predict if or it can happen
again. It analyses patterns in Data and uses computer science and Statistics to predict
rational output.
Machine learning is being used in Microsoft products from Bing to Office to Windows 8
to Xbox games. Now, with machine learning available on the Azure cloud, developers
can build learning capabilities into their own applications: recommendations, sentiment
analysis, fraud detection, fault prediction many more.
Machine learning is technology which uses a lot of data of anything and predicts
behaviour of that trend.
Machine learning takes an enormous amount of data for predicting systems behaviour.
Microsoft has integrated Machine learning in it’s cloud platform Azure, now if anyone
wants to develop software by using Machine learning they can use Azure cloud more
effectively.
Microsoft uses ML Algorithm for Cyber security without ML model it would be very difficult
for Microsoft to secure its data. Microsoft uses ML algorithms in fraud detection, fault
prediction and sentiment analysis.
Microsoft uses ML in digital assistant (Cortana) and Bing (search engine).
Machine learning algorithms that would automatically and continuously refine Bing’s
ability to summon relevant content. ML uses in Sales for Dynamic pricing,sales insight.
In Marketing product reccomendation, customer insights and churn analytics can be
done with help of ML. In Finance we use ML for Finance forecasting and risk
management.

Artificial Intelligence:
Artificial intelligence (AI) is a wide-ranging branch of computer science concerned with
building smart machines capable of performing tasks that typically require human
intelligence. It is intelligence expressed by Machine without Emotionality and
Consciousness.
Cortana is Microsoft AI which is used in Microsoft Windows for answering users'
questions.
The Microsoft team also uses AI driven tools which can recognise the voice and face of
participants.The AI, named AffectiveSpotlight, identifies participants’ faces and uses a
neural network to classify their expressions into emotions such as sadness, happiness
and surprise, and spot movements like head shaking. By using AI in The team we can
suggest polls.
Microsoft 365 uses AI for its cyber security and it prevents data leaks. From Search to
translation AI improving Microsoft products.
AI helps writers to write concise and clear in Microsoft Word or web.
Microsoft word documents can be transformed into powerpoint or jpg by using AI.

Internet of Things:
An IoT system consists of sensors/devices which “talk” to the cloud through some kind of
connectivity. Once the data gets to the cloud, software processes it and then might decide
to perform an action, such as sending an alert or automatically adjusting the
sensors/devices without the need for the user.
IOT is a network of physical things which connect and embedded sensors, software and
other technology for sending and collecting data on the internet.

Iot example as security on gate connects a variety of sensors, alarms, camera,

microphone and light which gives security.

Azure IOT edge module which can be monitored by collecting applications.

Alexa is an example of IOT. Smart mobile, smart alarm, smart watch, smart refrigerator
are examples of IOT.
Microsoft IoT Central is a fully managed, highly scalable IoT SaaS solution. It addresses all
the obstacles to build enterprise-grade IoT applications quickly. Microsoft IoT Central offers
top-notch security along with regional availability, reliability and global scale of Azure. It also
offers support for IoT best practices, allowing every organization to benefit from
transformational IoT.
Telecom giant Verizon has joined forces with Microsoft Azure to help developers and
service providers create and develop IoT solutions faster.Verizon’s IoT developer platform,

Virtual Reality:
Virtual reality (VR) implies a complete immersion experience that shuts out the physical
world.
VR headsets completely take over your vision to give you the impression that you're
somewhere else.
Virtual reality could be used in staff training for professionals who work in industries like
real estate or construction.
Microsoft calls its Windows 10 VR headsets "Windows Mixed Reality" headsets. Don't let the
term confuse you. "Mixed reality" in this case is simply virtual reality. They're VR headsets,
with nothing very "mixed" about them, besides the fact that some of the underlying interface
technology comes from The Microsoft Hololens Development Edition.
VR allows engineers and designers to experiment easily with the look and build of a
vehicle before commissioning expensive prototypes.
VR is more immersive and the user is completely immersed in computer simulated reality.

VR is used for marketing and procurement. We use VR in manufacturing for prototypes.

Augmented Reality:
Augmented reality (AR) adds digital elements to a live view often by using the camera on
a smartphone.
Microsoft HoloLens and various enterprise-level "smart glasses" are transparent, letting
you see everything in front of you as if you are wearing a weak pair of sunglasses.

The technology is designed for completely free movement while projecting images over
whatever you look at. The concept extends to smartphones with AR apps and games like
Pokemon Go, which use your phone's camera to track your surroundings and overlay
additional information on top of it, on the screen.

HoloLens can only project images in a limited area in front of your eyes. It isn't very
immersive when a hologram disappears once it moves out of a rectangle in the middle of
your vision, or when you need to stare at a small screen while pretending that the object
on that screen is actually in front of you.

VR replaces reality, taking you somewhere else. AR adds to reality, projecting information
on top of what you're already seeing.

Mixed Reality:
In a Mixed Reality (MR) experience, which combines elements of both AR and VR,
real-world and digital objects interact.In MR physical and digital objects co-exist and
interact in real time.
Microsoft’s HoloLens one of the most notable early mixed reality apparatuses.
MR used in Military training, Design, Remote working and entertainment etc.
There are a lot of other technologies which allow interaction between users and Mixed
Reality.
Window Mixed Reality is a Window 10 platform which provides users Mixed Reality
experiences. WMR is cheaper than rift and viva. And is a computer based Mixed reality.

Acer WMR headset have 6 degree freedom (6 DOF) which gives more immersed feeling

Mixed Reality Portal is a Universal windows platform app that serves as a front-end for
Windows Mixed Reality. It features a 3D environment which users can explore, and
customize with application shortcuts and virtual desktops.
The feature originally launched with one environment, the Cliff House. A second, Skyloft,
was added in the April 2018 Update

Cloud Computing:
Cloud computing provides us means by which we can access applications as utilities
over the internet. It allows us to create, configure and customize applications online. With
cloud computing users can access database resources via the internet from anywhere as
long as they need without worrying about maintenance of actual resources.
The word cloud means is Internet or Network.
Microsoft Azure, generally referred to as Azure, is a cloud computing service created by
Microsoft for building, testing, deploying, and managing applications and services through
Microsoft-managed data centers. It is used for file backup, Collaboration, Data Analysis
and Tool for developing software. Azure offered as Paas and Iaas services

Advantage of Cloud Computing:

Robotics:
Robot is a Mechanical Device which performs human tasks by Automated or remote
control. The study of Robot technology is called Robotics. Robots are used in all industries
which shows its importance.Now by using AI Robotics also become more modern and
capable which shows a lot of human characteristics. In microsoft they are developing
Intalligent Robot by using Bot Framework.Traditional Robots do only repeating and low
IQ works.
Microsoft and Sarcos are collaborating to add intelligent capabilities to the Guardian S that
would allow it to navigate more autonomously.
Microsoft Robotics Developer Studio. It is a Window based environment for Robot
Simulation and control. MRDS uses Graphical Environment.Myspace uses MRDS's
parallel computing foundation libraries.
