CRUISE IN HIGH AND LOW EGYPT IN SMALL GROUP

DAY 1 * FRANCE / CAIRO / LOUXOR

Flight to Cairo, then transfer to Luxor. On arrival, welcome by our representative and transfer on the boat.
Welcome drinks. Dinner and overnight on board.
DAY 2 * LOUXOR
Breakfast, information meeting and presentation of the program. Lunch on board. Then visit the Luxor and
Karnak Temples connected by the Sphinx Alley. Free time to stroll in the city. Dinner and overnight on board.
Optional: Evening Tour Sound and Light in Karnak.
DAY 3 * LOUXOR / ESNA / EDFOU / KOM OMBO
Breakfast, and navigation to Esna, passage from the lock to Edfu. Departure in a carriage for the discovery of
Edfu, the holy city of Horus, and the temple of Horus built in his honor. Navigation to Kom Ombo. After lunch,
visit the temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to Sobek (God with crocodile's head). Dinner and overnight on
board.
DAY 4 * KOM OMBO / ASWAN
Breakfast and navigation to Aswan. Arrival in Aswan, departure for the guided tour of the ancient quarries and
granite, the unfinished Obelisk, the old and the new dam. Lunch. Then, visit the Temple of Philae, dedicated to
the cult of Isis and saved from the waters by Unesco. Dinner and overnight on board.
Optional sound and light at Philae Temple.
DAY 5 * ASWAN / KOM OMBO
Breakfast on board. Excursion by bus to Abu Simbel, where are the two temples of Ramses II and his wife
Nefertari, which were to be engulfed by the waters during the commissioning of the High Dam on the Nile.
Lunch on board. Afternoon felucca ride around the Elephantine Islands and visit Lord Kitchener Botanical
Garden. Navigation to Kom Ombo. Dinner and overnight on board.
DAY 6 * KOM OMBO / LOUXOR
Breakfast. Full day sailing to Luxor, passing through the Edfu Lock and admiring the increasingly green Nile
Valley, sailing feluccas, heavily laden rafts. Free time on board. Lunch, dinner and overnight on board.
DAY 7 * LOUXOR
Breakfast, then departure for crossing the Nile and visit the necropolis of Thebes located on the left bank of
the Nile. Discovery of the Valley of the Kings where most pharaohs of the XVIIIth Dynasty were buried. Then
continue to the two colossi of Memnon: these two imposing statues are the only remains of the funerary
temple of Amenophis III. Visit the temple of Medinet Habout. Lunch on board. Afternoon free to stroll in the
souks, take a carriage ride or dromedary. Dinner and overnight on board.
DAY 8 * LOUXOR / HURGHADA
Breakfast on board. Departure by bus to Hurghada. Arrival late morning. Lunch at the hotel. Installation in the
rooms. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
DAYS 9 AND 10 * HURGHADA
Free stay in all inclusive in Hurghada.
DAY 11 * HURGHADA / SUEZ / CAIRO
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure by bus for Cairo, via Suez, a city that suffered greatly during three wars
(1956-1967 and October 1973 war) that took place along the canal (length 173km, width 200m and depth
20m) . Lunch in a typical restaurant en route. Arrival in Cairo and installation at the hotel. Dinner and
overnight at the hotel.
DAY 12 * MEMPHIS / SAKKARAH / GUIZEH
After breakfast, visit Memphis, capital of the old empire and Sakkarah where the step pyramid of King Djoser
rises. Lunch in town. In the afternoon, visit the Guizèh plateau, the Valley temple and the statue of the Sphinx.
Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Optional: in the evening Sound and Light to the pyramids.
DAY 13 * CAIRO
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning reserved for the visit of the National Museum. Lunch in town. Visit the Citadel
of Salah Din and the Mohamed Ali Mosque. Free time at Khan's Bazaar and Khalili. Dinner and overnight at the
hotel.
DAY 14 * CAIRO
After breakfast, departure for the discovery of the Coptic district of the capital. It takes you thirteen centuries
back, at the time of the Arab conquest and the founding of the city. Visit of the Ben Ezra synagogue, dedicated
to St. Michael in which the Melchite cult, the Coptic Church, long seat of the patriarchate, and the St George's
Church, dating from the sixth century, are maintained. Lunch during visits. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
DAY 15 * CAIRO / FRANCE
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport. Assistance with boarding formalities and flight to France.
